  1. So, don't shoot the messenger but my initial guesstimate was not far of: WFO frame only: R37 775. WFO 3 Star build : R61 900.
  2. I apologize, I forgot the fact that the WFO is a Alu frame...
  3. Nico, you are probably going to look at around R60k for that bike. The frame only option is around R40k.
  4. Your first post ever was on this thread....Why didn't you just call yourself Juma?
  5. A-Line MTB is getting some of these babies in the next week:
  6. I spoke to them last year before the race...Guess how many of my suggestions they listened to? Hint: About the same amount as the money that went back to the Spruit. If you are not happy about the criticism of your product, don't advertise it on the Hub. We are experts at criticizing everything and everybody.
  7. And seriously addictive. Hook this up with Farmtrader and start designing your own Bikeparks.
  8. There goes the rest of your work day....the part not spent on the Hub.
  9. Well said, but:We did not get one extra meter of singletrack out of Juma. If the Juma race route was an "out and back" route, using most of the Spruit to the other side of Witkoppen you'll be looking at closer to 70 km. ( using extra sections like Melville Koppies, Albert's Farm ect.) This route will add at least 20km of singletrack with new sections being build on the opposite side of the Spruit, esspecially on the Bryanston stretch. It will eliminate all the bottlenecks, and give us something to ride on after the race. But unfortunately the organizers are not riders themselves, so they planned a route under the misconception that steel ramps and concrete tunnels are value adding obstacles. Value is what you leave behind after the race, not what you put in your pockets. Go play on Bikeroutetoaster, you'll see what I mean
  10. What upgrades? Are you talking about the 1 meter wide bridge that was widened to 2 meters? I would much rather see the 2000 (+) x R400 go into the Spruit Fairy's account. Imagine what the Spruit would look like if we give the builders R800K+! If you really care about the Spruit you'll pitch for the build days and give NE the money you'll spend on this badly planned race. The guys who organized this race doesn't even ride...They just saw a bunch of soft targets to make money off. Juma does nothing for mountainbiking in Johannesburg. If you race at a place like VG, you know that some of your entry fee goes to the long term maintenance and development of the trails. You cannot say the same of Juma. If you want to have fun, go to the Enduro races at Hakahanna...the beer is cheaper, and the Jagermeister is free!
  11. The Bell super 2R is awesome. You basically always have the chin bar in your backpack, and only install it when things start to look sketchy. TBH if you are riding stuff that need a proper DH helmet, you'll be wearing one anyway. The Parachute is overkill for most of our trails, so you will look silly wearing it the whole day. Even the Bell doesn't look that great with chin bar installed. ( Compared to a normal DH helmet.) Go for the Bell.
  12. I've got the 2014 34 CTD. The creaking is the least of my problems. Just not a great product. Fox still makes some great forks including the 36 and the 40, but you'll have to go a long way to convince me to ride a 34 again.
  13. https://vimeo.com/120024398 The Transition TransAM.
  14. At least you're going for the right color! There are already 2 black ones on the way to CT.
  15. And here's the review: http://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/Transition/Patrol-1,15293#product-reviews/1997
  16. Another "orange" bike: The Transition Patrol.
  17. The trade agreement between SA & the EU states that only products manufactured in the EU ( there is a whole bunch of exclusions), are exempt from import duties. You are going to struggle to find a bicycle where all the parts are from Europe. Import the frame separate from the parts ( at least a week apart), and pay 0% duties - regardless where you import it from. But remember you still have to add 10% import VAT + 14% VAT+ whatever you paid for shipping. ( normally about 13%). So the 3000 USD frame (you saw on some online bike store )is not R30 000. It is 3000 x 11,5 x 1,13 x 1,1 x 1,14 = R 48 887. So your local bike shop is not ripping you off when they are charging you R42 000 for said frame.
  18. Could you please add a unlike button? If you reach to many unlikes, your comment gets hidden and you lose reputation points. Works quite well on PB and Sky. That way we do not have to scroll through facetious comments that most of us would prefer to skip anyway... Thanks!
