I'am in....for some lekker aftjop on climbs, but looking foward to Saturday.

Also did the 42k,and had my fist tumble over handlebars.Body was not to badly broken,but ego was shatterd,lol,but at least managed to finish in around 2h30 as well.Big up to the person who placed the bottle of port and tot glasses on top of one climb few km's before the finish.

Just arrived,no rain,but wind is gale force!

Will be a very early riser for me on Saturday then.Cannot wait!

I ordered my first CRC parcel past Sunday evening.Opted for DHL,and parcel was delivered on Thursday morning 8:15.Highly impressed.

I received my carbon Momsen Sl729 this week,bought from Solomons for 18k.Awesome looking bike,and imho,silly money for top spec bike.

Then again,i would rather have my car fixed with second hand body parts (genuine) than ill fitting,pirate parts.

Will be my first time on this route as well,and i suppose it will be extra wet and muddy,but i will give it a try!

My advice.Try and get a pre owned bike in the right size for you,with decent specs,for the money.For 8k you can get a decent 26er. That way, when you decide after two months mtbiking is not to your liking,you could sell the bike again without losing to much on capital outlay. If you are hooked,you can upgrade,or buy a better bike.

Yes,mud was unreal.If pedalstroke stopped,so did motion! But overall it was a very enjoyable event,and was worth the long commute back and forth.

Best to have a proper engine code scan done with a VAG system. But do not overlook the engine temp sender unit.Many times a culprit on Golf 4 and Polo models.Just do not buy a pirate replacement!!
