  1. Yeah, the optical HR sensors have really come a long way in a remarkably short period of time. Who thought that 2 little LED's and a sensor would be able to do that!?
  2. right now I'd like some sleep... caught a bug. 38.5 deg. Need to go home, but also need to do stuff at the office. mehness
  3. We covered this a couple of pages back. The only way to get 1,500 or 3,000 points is now with the use of an HR enabled device. This is understandable, as the old way (distance / speed / time based) was very much open to abuse. I mean, stick Strava on and leave it in your car whilst you drive home, or are on the road... BAM. 3,000 points. So, your apple watch "gimmick" would have allowed you to continue getting 3,000 points per ride as it (shock horror) records HR data.
  4. up to 100% discount on single branch VA memberships. Not available for nat'l membership. extra 25% discount is based on how many weekly goals you hit per month.
  5. Started from the beginning of S2 of House of Cards. Why did I ever stop watching!?
  6. lol... read again. I said Canis, and depending on quantity of mud may need ibex / MM But seriously. Rolling resistance is far more of a problem on the back. On the front, I want as MUCH grip as I can get.
  7. haven't tried a Canis on the front, but froma marathon perspective it could work very nicely. For mud, though, I'd go for something chunkier. Ibex / Magic Mary and so on. Depending on how much mud there is.
  8. Dude. Not cool. Digging pretty darn deep to get to that level.
  9. It was old 100 pages ago. Yet it carries on surfacing from different ends every time.
  10. Hey, at least he apologises. A lot of people could learn from that.
  11. I don't know. Probably as Patch says, with the thread's focus moving away from that from time to time. Also - it's the Hub. Come on now, Skubbs. You've been here long enough to know how it is...
  12. Unfortunately, with the legal framework and the extent to which some people are defending themselves with those love letters forcing a retraction "or else", you have to be very careful how things are done... It's not nice, especially in Fand's case, where he is being proven right. I think a few people are trying to reconcile their feelings for Fand's assertions (which were clear) whilst also trying to stay clear of any potential lawsuit... That's the trouble. You can't say something without proof. There be monsters...
  13. Without the phone, it just tracks HR, not distance. So strava won't work, but the Workout app will. It needs to piggy-back off the phone to get GPS data. So no you won't need the phone if using the workout app or ihealth or whatever it's called.
  14. Okay, I got the wrong end of the stick. i thought the "doctor" being referred to here was our very own Pee-Wee 50cc... But if one of you is talking about Jeroen, and the other Ross Tucker, no wonder you're crossing wires..
  15. Still don't know what this "product" is, or where it's kept.
  16. For the moment, it's still a firm No. Both from Vitality upper management and call centre Based on the performance of my consultant, I'll need to check if it's updated every week. It won't just be volunteered.
