  1. ROFL. Better whipped than creamed... Wait. Even I don't know what that means!
  2. ROFL I dunno. But as for "real food" I'd gladly take a steak in to tokai. But then I may just have my camelbak infused with blood... I just use the bars 'cos they're tasty. And easy. As for nanas, they're fantastic during a ride. As are taters. And bovril/cheese sarmies...
  3. Dude, that's what I ride. When I don't ride my DH bike. It's a 26" Felt Q620, with a 120mm fork on the front and turned into an XCAM machine.
  4. You forgot the discussion last time (at the mast split) You: We carrying on? Me: Huh?! You:
  5. oh, absolutely - I have the 661 Kyle Strait knee guards and they are AWESOME. I meant affordable in the grand scheme of things. Kinda like I'm prepared to pay R 1,300 for a Le Creuset pot but baulk at paying R 40 for a wooden spoon. You know what I mean? It's all about perceived value, as well as the quality of the goods. All I ask is that they not be priced at a stupid premium, 'cos in that case peeps will carry on importing through CRC or something, and gladly pay all the import duties and so on, just to be able to get a better deal.
  6. Yeah, a Capricorn-dare And awesome. Will ride it tomorrow then! And Saturday! Still need to put that last drop in though... I really don't like that stump in the middle of things!
  7. I'll be there in the morning as well on my XCAMHT. Time is still to be determined, but I plan to shred (slowly) down the hill after slogging up to the mast.
  8. only place I know of that stocks 661 at the moment is CWC (may be wrong) but they're not exactly cheap.
  9. Dude, you'd have plenty people knocking on your door if you brought in the 661 stuff, as well as SPY - if your prices are good, that is!
  10. Woolies Cranberry & nut yoghurt protein bar. Lovely jubbly! Must be the tastiest protein / energy bar I've even had.
  11. Dude, Pain or Shine rides his 150mm Giant Reign on those races, and he has FUN! So, the SJ shouldn't pose a problem ITO excess travel.
  12. Haha! I had some last night... Burgers, that is. Cheeseburger. Bacon. Tomato. Lettuce & onions. With Potato wedges and steers salt. BOOYA!
  13. Why, the answer should be evident, oh crowish one. Ones that bite and claw and gnash the trails!
  14. Yeah bro, far too high. I'm 102kg and run 30psi...
  15. Unfortunately so... We did realize that some idjits would still try to ride, which is why we put logs all over the place. But having them ride the trail AND be a back brake cowboy? Now that hurt...
  16. Update - the rains on the weekend wreaked havoc with the top section of the trail, which unfortunately didn't have enough time to bed in before the rains hit. This means that the trail will be closed for longer than anticipated, but for good reason. It also means that more clay will have to be brought up to fix what the rains (and a few inconsiderate back-brake cowboys) did over the weekend. As for the rest of the trail, it's looking good after the rain. Only in the top section (by the dropoffs, where some riders ignored the logs indicating trail closure, and seemed to have dragged their back wheel through the whole section) was there any discernible damage. Once again, this will be fixed. Please bear with us while we attempt to rectify the damage caused... The good news is that the water run-offs did their job, and diverted much of the water away from the critical areas. Unfortnately the furrows created by people riding on as yet un-finished trails caused the water to do a bit of damage to the new sections.
  17. Tip - you want as much rubber as you can (makes for a better ride, and offers a bigger contact patch. Will also behave better under stress than a slimmer tyre. I've got a 2.2 WTB wolverine at the back and a 2.3 WTB WEIRWOLF at the front. They're both the same size as the 2.5 Minions on my DH bike, so sizes can be misleading. The new Conti sizing is far more generous, but you would likely find the 2.2 a bit too little tyre for you if you like thrashing it a bit. I'd go 2.4 personally... BTW - My combo is all year round. I like as much grip as I can get, and the Weirwolf has that in spades...
