  1. Stolen: Scott Spark World Cup AXS 2021 When: 10/04/2022Where: Outside, Cape Town, Western CapeYellow Scott Spark World Cup AXS, has Csixx handlebars and a Lyne Holy Rail and dropper post.Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section.
  2. Shimano XTR9100 was by far the worst groupset I have ever ridden in terms of reliability. Derailleur clutch would give issues often causing crazy chain slap (Shimano refused to warranty), brakes are weak and require maintenance all the time (and you can't service them). The only good part was the XT cassette which has an awesome range and is "affordable" and the smooth shifting.
  3. Have also only had good dealings with TVS.
  4. Wild, glad you got it back @cdreyer
  5. Wild.. Its that time of year folks
  6. I'm having a similar problem with my M9100's especially the rear brake. Going to try the gravity bleed method this evening. I am also going to switch over to metallic pads. Currently have Resin pads and it feels like they overheat quite fast.
  7. Barzo's do not like dry / loose over hard terrain. Its a good winter tyre though when it can bite into the loamy soil.
  8. Xoc.co.za - best value / no issues
  9. I had the same/similar issue with a BRAND new XTR 12 Spd derailleur. Turns out the clutch was sticky and needed a service (Very quick job, basically needs a bit of Shimano grease on the clutch mechanism). After that everything is working just fine.
  10. "Get your mates to sign up and sit slip on fees. New subscriptions get you beer money." No thanks.
  11. Woodstock is the wild west. The person had very heavy - what looked to be stab wounds - to the chest and lots of blood around them. Rode past the spot on my way home and there was police tape around the area.
  12. Passed what looked like a murdered individual on the Church Street bridge in Woodstock this morning. Cops had just arrived when I rode past. Not the best start to the morning.
  13. Had a puncture around there in December from a devil thorn, but that was only one time out of countless rides past there since.
  14. Sorry to hear about your incident. Try not to let these A holes get the better of you, and keep you from enjoying your sport and not sitting in traffic! I also use the N1 as the bike lane is far too isolated. The busier the area the better (most of the time).

  16. Warranty and support locally is in my experience much better than the Shimano agents.
  17. Thinking about this now it could very well be the same guy. The previous times I have seen him he did not seem harmful or aggressive, which is why I had not thought of him. If he is unstable or under the influence of something it could very well account for the change in behaviour.
  18. Hey guys, Thanks for putting this info out there. This was a big eye opener for me, I normally ride through the campus itself but on Friday I thought it would be cool to take a different route and hide from the wind a bit. I unfortunately ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time in a secluded section - normally there are plenty of students / staff around but with exams being almost over there wasn't a soul and the wind was pumping so you couldn't hear unusual noises or a call for help. The person who came after me was up to no good, and seeking to commit a crime. He got within a meter or two of me and didn't stop running, from UCT Sports Center (with same crazy look in his eyes) till I lost sight of him around Rhodes Mem gate area - I was in a full sprint and this guy was scary fast. I kept going till the Sanparks office at Newlands Fire base where I alerted the rangers and called SAPS . The path next to the M3 is my standard commute route and its sad that we have to live in fear of what might be hiding around the next corner. Keep your eyes open and try mitigate your risks when riding anywhere alone!
  19. I do a similar commute to town. Initially I tested a Diverge Expert and a Rondo Ruut CF. The diverge is great but I didn't like the feel of the futureshock on the road or when pedalling out of the saddle. The Rondo ticked all the boxes for me. Ended up buying the Alu Rondo Ruut from East City Cycles. Great bike with 1x SRAM Apex, does the job perfectly and still very competitive at the races! Titan is a winner if you are looking for 2x drivetrain.
  20. Massive Kudo's to Heinrich and Prince!! Legends
  21. I miss the old CWC. Now I shop else where.
  22. Can you guys do anything on XT Pedals M8000 https://www.evobikes.co.za/components/mtb-pedals/shimano-xt-pd-m8000-pedals.html Or XTR M9100 https://www.evobikes.co.za/components/mtb-pedals/shimano-xtr-pd-m9100-pedals.html Please!

  24. I know this is a bit of an open ended question because this is SA after all, but how safe is it up there?
