  1. I know you are..
  2. Almost 2k then, still a good price but I scored one of them super comfy awesome new Leatt DBX 3.0 All Mountain helmets locally for around the same price.
  3. Haha awesome! We spent the Friday and Saturday shuttling the hell out of that hill!
  4. Jokes aside, I've see many a Mavic rim trashed. While a smaller volume in the positive air chamber is more progressive, do your smaller volume tyres have a larger volume negative air chamber for small bump sensitivity and off the top plushness? Can't argue with science, 66% of the time it is correct every time.
  5. Just want to add my 2c... Have you hit a pothole n a GTI vs. a Hilux? Both are still *** cars after you hit the pothole.... Jokes aside... The Hilux has a much higher chance of less damage to the rim and tyre vs. the GTI. I am not sure what sort of terrain you ride but up here in rocky Gauteng, I choose a higher volume tyre every time as the bigger volume with a relatively low pressure (not too low that it squirms all over the place) will conform to bumps and sharp edges not only giving you a plusher ride and the "illusion" of extra suspension travel, but the bigger volume allows the tyre to absorb more of these hits before pinging your rim all over the show resulting in a sad rider pushing his/her bike down the trail while googling replacement tyre and rim prices.
  6. When are you leaving?
  7. Was your shuttle broken? I also had my TSRr on the front at Cascades.
  8. I can't imagine the fast track having much grip on the front to start with. They will roll hella fast though! Just ignore the rain and ride it like its dry. If you believe it, you can do it!
  9. on flat trails yeah. But point the TRS+ downhill and let go of the brakes. It dares you!
  10. From what I noticed in the short time I had the TRS+ up front (I lost the tyre when insurance took my bike away when I "wrote it off"). The rolling resistance was reduced drastically compared to the TRSr up front. There was a bit of a difference in grip but it was still not bad as a front tyre at all! I would say it is on par with the Spaz Butcher grip wise. Noting that the Spaz Butcher number 1 on my list for trail/enduro riding/racing. The TRSr I prefer to use on shuttle days or for DH. Once gradient is involved the TRSr really is majestic! However when trying to sprint down some flat trail and you stop pedaling to catch a breather, it feels as if you have deployed a parachute. Combo's tested: 1) Front:TRSr, Rear: TRS+. 2) Front:TRSr, Rear: Spaz Slaughter Grid. 3) Front:TRS+, Rear: Spaz Slaughter Grid. 4) Front:TRSr, Rear: Spaz Butcher Grid.
  11. You were being daft
  12. Try the TRS+ on the front if you have one. Thank me later.
  13. The E13 dual compound is something to be tried up front! The triple compound as mentioned grips like hell but doesn't roll too nicely when you are on trails without too much gradient. I would say the dual compound up front offers roughly the same grip as a Spaz Butcher but with the extra width and volume of the E13 tyres.
  14. Yeah, I am now constantly fiddling with my Yari which sparked the question about what everyone else has done with their setup. I have my Pike RC pretty dialed for my riding but just cant seem to nail the setup on the Yari. I am almost ready to spend some cash on an after market damper. Maybe even a coil conversion kit.
  15. Coming in HOT!
  16. Couldn't imagine riding with 4 tokens myself Was on two tokens on my pike, just gone down to 1 token on the Yari.
  17. So how has everyone got their Pike's/Lyrik's/Yari's set up these days? SAG% - PSI? Rider weight? Number of tokens? Bike head angle? Bla bla bla...
  18. You ride Road bikes and wear lycra, and you attempt to discredit me? Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  19. Couldn't agree more on your first point! I have not seen the Fox first hand. I have been using the Bell for ages. I have had a look at the Catlike and tried it on. I have spent some time looking at the Leatt and tried it on a bunch of times (was not allowed to ride in it unfortunately). Leatt takes the cake no question about it! As far as pricing goes, they all seem to be closely priced. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  20. Dead like taking a mountain bike to Morzine..... Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  21. I cannot confirm or deny that this lid is Lighter, better ventilated and more comfortable 2R it's competitor... Believe it.....
  22. "Serious Stoke" BUT WAIT! There's more... I've got a little more than 120km on the tyres with probably 20km of tar riding so far. No sign of wear as yet. Sounds too good to be true even to me... Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  23. The Magic (trail star) I found to have a tiny unpredictable spot between top and side knobs, nowhere near as big as the DHF but definitely noticeable (more so on fast hardpack). I have tested the TRS setup on hardpack, loose over hard, small loose rubble like terrain, sandy/loam, flat rock and rock gardens. Not one slip yet! They just seem to hook in and even make flat corners feel like your railing a rut! With regards to pressure. I'm always fiddling between 1.6 - 2.0 bar front and 1.8 - 2.4 bar rear with a rider heft of 100kg +VAT. We tend to go to quite high pressure on some of the Hakahana stages otherwise even Super Gravity Casings get munched by our rocks. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  24. The TRS Race is probably very similar to the Magic in rolling resistance but way more planted and predictable. I've managed to get the sticky TRS Race into a front wheel drift in a bit of a loamy flat corner and I could literally feel each side know digging in just holding the slide. I still managed to pump out of the corner while it was drifting without it letting go. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  25. TRS Plus on the rear at the moment. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
