  1. Awesome! How was the Tomtom though?
  2. Get hold of Darren from Shreddtech, very helpful guy. He should be able to advise you on sizing as he is pretty clued up on it. As mentioned my pants are normally 38, my Royal pants are L. Shirt normally XL, Royal jersey L. If I remember correctly, the different ranges within the Royal kit may vary on the fit and sizing but Darren know which are a smaller or bigger cut. He helped me out with sizing and what seemed would be too small was actually perfect. When in doubt, ask the right people.
  3. I normally wear size 38 pants and XL shirts. I've got royal kit from shreddtech that fits me nicely.
  4. 2015 kit now up n Shreddtech, some HOT kit to be had! http://www.shreddtech.co.za/
  5. The Saffer car bar, okay we didn't have a car but there were a few in the parking lot.... The fresh ice cold mountain water troughs are amazing! I didn't use tap water once in my hydration pack in those two weeks! The troughs do become more appealing after a long days riding when beers is added to be cooled by the water.
  6. plus you can get some awesome kit you won't get here! Don't go over there expecting insanely cheap kit but bargains are found! Me goggles for example... cost me R450 which is on par but nice and unique compare to the local stuff.
  7. Without the horrible music in the background!
  8. As far as spending money goes, Okay I was a little on the conservative side but I spent about R3200 while I was there. That included a few beers every night, lunch every day, a sick pair of goggles, a few T-shirts and snacks here and there. Just saying that if you take it easy it's not that bad.
  9. It feels like I don't even know you anymore!
  10. What an awesome bike you're riding there!
  11. "a really great experience."... A cup of tea "is a really great experience"! The neighbours daughter "is a really great experience"!
  12. +1 on the Butcher/Slaughter combo
  13. A few layers of duct tape for rim tape and as good as any other tubeless setup. The rims have 4 little holes on the inside, two on either side of the join. I assume they are used when joining the two ends of the rim in manufacturing. as long as your duct tape/rim tape is cut wide enough to cover these holes you will have no hassles at all.
  14. Indeed, I've had two sets on my trail bikes and about to build another for my jump bike. They are fairly light, nice internal width and they are strong. Mine have taken a good amount of abuse and never let me down.
  15. Yeah, sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. "We will never make a 650b bike."
  16. Dartmoor raiders on daild bikes.Spank spikes Those two come to mind off the bat.
  17. You shouldn't have a problem at all. Don't walk in to a store and expect them to just have them in store. The trick is to phone a spaz dealer, ask if they have stock. If/when they say no, ask them to Check with spaz and order for you. 9 times out of 10 they are available the store just don't stock them because they don't move as fast as the less aggressive tyres. I have found as I've moved through the wheel sizes that it's not actually a wheelsize that limits us on tyre choices. Generally we don't get good aggressive tyres in any size due to our marathon focused market. Hopefully that is all changing though.
  18. Do yourself a favour. Try the spaz butcher up front. My findings on butcher vs. DHF: the butcher rolls faster and grips more, it doesn't have that no grip at all transition from top to side knobs that I found with the DHF. At the rear, give the spaz slaughter a try. Nice and fast rolling with the side knobs of the butcher which hook up nicely. The control casing can be a bit on the thin side but if you've had a purgatory on the back without problems then it will be cool. That being said I've had a butcher control on the front most of this year without any problems. The control on the rear is where I battled with the casing being too thin. Keeping in mind that most of the time I ride where it's just rocks for days. I have tested a DHF and a magic Mary on the front but keep going green back to the butcher.
  19. Yoou speak as if they are on one of your bikes, I want to see them on a bike!
  20. patiently awaits review on corset can...
  21. The new 7 IDP stuff was due to be available locally. May be a little while before we see it on our shelves though.
  22. That is not a bad price!
  23. There really is no straight answer to this as there are as many variables as there are posts in this thread. However, I ride with nothing thinner than a tyre with schwalbe Super Gravity casing on the rear. They do weigh around 1kg per tyre but that is just something I am willing to live with to have a bomb proof tyre. The 4 ply side walls also allow for even lower pressures. My current setup is Schwalbe Rock Razor Trailstar Super Gravity on the rear with a Schwalbe Magic Mary Trailstar Super Gravity on the front.
  24. If you've got 5 or 6 days to wait for an order to be delivered to France. Drop me a message.
