The last and only tyre I stitched with dental floss and patched only held out for a few tech sections and drop offs before the floss tore through the rubber...
I have a high roller (bought it from probike with an order I placed) with a cut between the side and centre knobs. I have tried plugging it, I even tried a car tyre plug this morning but it just pushed out... Need to find a solution because it's still got 95% life on it and grips like turd to a shoe!
Do we get the Magic Mary in SA in trailstar compound with SG casing? At the moment I have HD's in pacestar with SG casing, the low pressures I can run comfortable are just crazy but the pacestar up front leaves you looking for a bit more grip on smooth hard pack. It is awesome in the loose tho! Would you say the Magic Mary rolls faster or slower than a High roller (not Highroller 2)?
Just to add my 2c to the fire... Earlier this year at one of the KZN provincial MTB races there were more participants for the enduro than there were for the XCO
Hakahana, watch this space! Maybe not one bike for the weekend but a weekend featuring multiple discipline races over one Weekend "hakahana festival" if I may call it that. XCO, XCM and #enduro races over one weekend. At a later stage maybe even a short DH race, pump track race and maybe even a few dirt jumps for a mini slopes style comp. Maybe even throw in some camping (maybe).
Exactly what I'm talking about! I'm interested to hear Curtis Keene's opinion on the two and see if he sticks with the 650b or reverts back to his 29er...
There was no offence taken, I was just interested to in weather or not you had ridden one.
The only reason why the 29er is even an option is because of a few mates of mine that have ridden the 29er Enduro... I don't know a large amount of guys that have ridden one but the ones that have are all 26er die hard fans, each and every one of them have said "Do it! what an epic bike!"
I have come to realise that the information we are fed is directly linked to the type of riding that the person you ask for information is in to.
At the KZN provincials at Giba this year, Spaz were there with a fleet of Enduro's to test. The Monday after I decided to call a concept store here in JHB to enquire about buying an Enduro only to be told that there is only one Enduro in SA which belongs to a concept store owner and the only reason he has one is because he brought it into SA specially for himself...
I used to ride a 26er stumpy which I should never have sold! I have borrowed 29er stumpy's from spaz on two occasions. I wasn't sold on the 29er stumpy even tho I don't have anything bad to say about them. I just could not get comfortable on them once the trail started pointing downwards. I didn't think that spaz would have 650b test bikes yet since I'm told I can only buy one next year. I have on a few occasions tried to get information about the enduro from the jhb concept stores and they all seem clueless. I have had to phone ballito to get any info on the enduro... Edit: any idea where I could get their schedule with dates and locations for the test the best tour? I wouldn't mind popping down to kzn to a demo day there!
Do spaz actually have a #enduro 650b test bike? The whole climbing side of the bike doesn't bother me as my main focus is getting from top to bottom. what I want from the bike is having the most fun possible while bombing down a hill. Being able to tell if it's a 26,650 or 29 by riding it doesn't really bug me either. I just want to shred!
So... I am planning on getting a 2015 #Enduro comp. Problem is I have a never ending debate with myself! 650b or 29... My mind automatically goes to 650 BUT! 29er I can take delivery at the end of October 650b I can only get around Feb/March 2015... While doing my homework it is very clear that the 29er is a very capable bike and is no less a bike than the 650b, each with their own personality...
Did you email them back and tell them that the best possible service they could offer us saffers is their old method of shipping as the new price from shipping will loose them a whole lot of business compared to a few parts SAPO might swallow...
