I worry a bit about rolling resistance as I do tend to pedal up hill from time to time. Did a half marathon XC event this weekend on the moto and it was way more pleasant than I was expecting. I might end up doing more XC races with the Moto so I wouldnt want something to hectic. Price is also a factor and at R370,00 the reason why the purgatory is on the top of the list.

I had a 26x2.2 Purgatory on the front until yesterday, decided to drop my tyre pressure a bit (a bit to much I guess) and slashed the side wall. I would like to say that it was my fault and not that the tyre has a soft side wall The 2.2 felt as wide as a Conti 2.4 . Need to decide which of these three to replace it with. Purgatory 2.3 Ardent 2.4 High roller 2.4/2.5?

Enjoyed the day out! D batch was good to me, felt like there were far less people than usual thanks to the 10min gap! Missed my goal by 1m51s but I am happy with my 2h31m50s for the half considering I ride my 160mm travel 15/16kg AM bike with a long sleeve DH jersey The sleeves really saved my ginger tendencies from the sun! Over all, smiles all round!!!

I am 105kg's and run my back ar 2 bar and front at 1.8 bar which works well for me. Maybe use the formula provided by carbon29er and while on a ride let your tyres down a bit at a time until you find the sweet spot for your tyre and type of riding.

Dont take my word for it at this stage but depending on how many of us there are and how busy (if theres a load of us) a certain airline's (which we wont be flying with) lounge is on the day. My father inlaw "to be" works for such an airline (which airline, we wont mention in writing). He always hooks me up when I fly

What tyres do you use in Morzine? I currently have a spesh purgatory 2.2 on the front which I enjoy. they have a 26x2.3 now which I would like to try and then move the 2.2 to the back. I believe its a bit slow rolling for a rear tyre but I'm thinking if theres ski lifts should I worry that much about slow rolling...
