  13. Now,now be nice to the newbie, The Shimano, campag debate is a world wide topic that has been going on for many years now! I do not agree with you, as a fellow mechanic that has worked on many pro s bikes it is our job to check every thing, including cables and to make sure that things like this dont happen, Yes, it could be a faulty cable ( can happen to any cable company) Or like most of the pro s they try save weight by going upmarket cable kits, they light ,thinner and break eazyer at times! But its sad for all of us to blame shimano when none of us really know the real story, we just guessing- im just give you a mechanic s point of view! As for the torque setting for Shimano dura-ace crankset, You need to spend less time on this site and more in the shimano web site! These are the correct settings quickly for you! 1- Torque setting for bb are 35-50 n.m ( not the crank bolts fellow hubber) 2-Torque settings for crank cap (that fits into the crank axile shaft) are 0.7-1.5 n.m 3-Each bolt need to be evenly and equally to torqued to 12-15 n.m If your mechanic or shop does not do this the crank will fall off every time and so my friend you have never met a real mechanic yet!! Any one who says "tighten it until it strips and then 1 turn back" Need to stay far away for any tool s or workshop! Thanks for the welcome note but i just happen to one of your" highly knowledgeable people" Once you ve read the complete shimano tech manuals - come back to me and we can chat! Enjoy your day buddy!
  14. That crank will only fall of if it was not torque to 14-16 nm- once again bad mechanicing fall s shimano!
  15. Dont blame shimano -get a real mechanic!!!!!! ( cant blame shimano for a cable head breaking) Shimanos for perfectionists-Campags for guys who dont know better!
