I did the Sun City 103 km today, I am licensed 30 - 40 and was seeded in VA but chose to ride in B with a mate of mine. We got off superbly and the main bunch settled in nicely. I was doing my thing, occasionaly moving up the side of the bunch getting to the front and drifting back after a short pull and repeating the process which was not easy as our bunch was HUGE. Suddenly after a few pulls I hear a voice from behind " I have your number!! I am going to report you!!" Beside myself I glance back and see a guy in Super Cycling Kit GLARING at me. I asked him what the problem was and he said I had been crossing the white line.... I thought he was kidding, this made him more angry and eventualy we were having a good ol argument and he was quite clearly losing his temper. Fisticuffs and hand bag slinging aside- Did I really do something that endangers others by occasionaly crossing the line? hell our bunch was huge and there were many riders crossing at any given time mostly to avoid braking when the bunch slowed and when overtaking other slower riders/bunches. I recon this bloke, who as someone else pointed out had NO number owes me an apology, but at the end of the day could I be disqualified? and if so do you agree?

I have asked this before but I cannot find the thread nor responses any where- I have a VERY old Siemens VDO tourist bike computer which I want to use on my spare bike in my indoor trainer. Since most training plans etc revolve around Heart rate and Cadence (and power) I would like to jippo this computer to read my cadence. Does anybody know what settings (Tyre size or relevant code) to input in order to achieve this? My Cranks are 170's Looking forward to hearing from the brainboxes out there.

A great pity Hushovd fell, Boonen is incredible!! Do you think Hushovd could have taken him in the sprint had he not fallen?

dunno - looks like 3 Cervelo riders up front Klier Hushovd and Hausler. Boonen is riding like a mad man - awesome.

Mighty Spoke and I did the 65km loop in suikerbosrand today and are planning to go again tomorow. Where do the majority of you guys park? It seems there are two entrances, we park at the same entrance that the Race for Victoy race uses to get into the reserve (I think the race uses the N3 gate as an exit.) A nice ride : 86km's sees you park at the Circus ride to the Gate do the 65km route and then ride back to the Circus, we did this last week, took us 3h30.

Assuming Wimpy or Mug in Umhlanga? I may not join or eat at brekkie as I have to watch my sugar levels being Diabetic and all. Where is Mug in Umhlanga? Not sure, (being a vaalie in kzn is a tough business). Wimpy is near to the Steers I think?? I need to know so that wifey can come and get me and Mighty Spoke after the ride. Andrew, what car can we look out for in the parking lot??

Not nice to hear of these crazy nasty accidents. Ben we have never met but I wish you a speedy recovery. When you are well enough look into the workman's compensation fund. I am sure a claim of some sort is in order. Hang in there, there are lots of us thinking about you.
