  1. Prately steel a smaller bolt onto the sheared end 😆
  2. To me, it seems like Roglic has been racing a bit differently lately. He seems more measured in his efforts. Traditionally, he seemed to struggle towards the end of stage races. I wonder if he's learnt from this and tried to adjust. Battling Remco last year, it appeared as if he 'saved some legs for later'. One will never know with him I suppose. He's so likeable that it always sucks to see him blow up at crunch time. John Wakfield can mos koppel some data for us but is most likely rolling his eyes.
  3. Hair doping team lol! For a guy who's always exuding confidence (if not, arrogance), the owner of said team looked VERY uncomfortable when asked a question about doping. His whole frame changed. *takes tin foil hat off*
  4. Yes, the man himself.
  5. The regular users of The Hub, seem to be seasoned riders mostly, so I'm inclined to think most are set/comfortable with their routines and abilities. Couple this with the safety aspect of meeting a stranger from online and the fact that our city is cliquey, don't fret if you get no response. I hope you do though. Good luck!
  6. Interesting topic in that I've always thought it was just a bad bottle design and never considered that it could be the cage. Reason being, is that the bottles that usually stick, are the ones with the sticky print (Enduren or First Ascent) or just not sized correctly. Whereis I feel Elite, Polisport and even Ciovita have designed bidons that never stick in any of my cages.
  7. There's a new season of Unchained available on Netflix. Already enjoying it more than the first season. The cinematics are vibrant and the storyline seems more refined this time.
  8. Are those chrome hubs on the SL8's?
  9. All good man, it's not that we're being snobs. It's like having to trade in your 2 door coupe for an SUV. Nothing wrong with it all but it still needs a moment of silence lol.
  10. Quality video bud. I had FOMO while watching. Everything of the best for this shop. It's nice to see something with a twist. I'll definitely pop in.
  11. It wouldn't be the worst thing though, as it will tighten up the already huge time gaps AND it will give him a better chance at winning TdF. More entertainment for us! I do wonder if this strategy is even possible though. Probably not.
  12. Same story with his ITT... It's weird.
  13. That section is so notorious, i doubt you will get a confirmation here. However, I think the metal cage did make an appearance in that German guy's video about the bike lane a couple of months ago. What I do recall for sure was that there was a section where he needed to get off his bike and the cycle lane altogether because one section had scaffolding erected in the lane by one of the businesses along the route. Can't even be mad at the business in question. They surely know that the bike lane is truly deserted by now.
  14. Thanks for pointing this out @Shebeen. I've submitted my comments via the link (I know many hubbers see this as useless but I will do it until I'm blue in the face) and they echo EXACTLY what Robbie has stated. I've suggested they create an NMT Security outfit to patrol these lanes 7 days a week. This will protect the investment, encourage further usage and create a decent amount of jobs.
  15. I saw that! The lady still finished pretty high up in the order too. RESPECT!
  16. It gets even weirder when you click on the person's profile who sold it on FB.
  17. Based on past BH grievances, have your receipts ready for scrutiny and be completely honest when conveying the story. If all is in order, name and shame. We're a community and thus need to look out for each other.
  18. Exactly! I've been avoiding riding into town/Camps Bay from Blouberg due to the N1 incidents lately. So I started going via this way to get into Durbanville for a new loop. Now this way is compromised too. Trying to be a well-rounded cyclist in Blouberg is becoming increasingly difficult. We have to ride far to get decent vert and most of our options are now tainted. It's a difficult pill to swallow that road cycling is dying a multipronged death. Gravel bike classifieds entered the chat...
  19. Well...considering I just used a Takealot voucher to get a pair for R500 i'd say you did great!😆
  20. Yip! Mind you, it was only 15Euros on the MET website versus R1,2k at CL. When I pushed back, they said a better price would still put me around R1k. So again, I would emphasize asking about parts backup availability if you're investing in a nice helmet.
  21. One thing I'll now consider when buying a new helmet is the accessibility and price of replacement parts. I bought a MET Rivale MIPS in 2021 for R2550.00. Great helmet but the forehead inner padding started falling apart last year. No problem, I see the padding as a consumable item. I asked the local MET dealer for a quote for replacement padding... R1200! I struggled to pull the trigger on 6 pieces of material, seemingly worth half the entire helmet.
  22. Any race reports with hot pickled onions and extra chilli????
