  1. Didn't you know it's not about the weight? Carbon cages are stiffer, giving you better performance on your bottle extraction.
  2. I'm so fast I've already left the 21st century
  3. My derailleur also got mangle due to a stick that got caught in it. managed to bend it back sort of straightish. Good enough to ride with.

  5. Got a 2109 Spez Stumpjumper for 40k in March April from Revolution. Full Carbon. Brilliant bike. Perfect for Cape Town trails. Maybe give them a call - they might still have stock.

  7. Iphone was dropped. Did it survive the fall?
  8. Don't smaak those elasticated waists. Looks like my opagrooitjie's gardening outfit.
  9. Just sit at The Dairy Shed on a Saturday morning and watch the middle aged lycra clad cyclists roll through after devouring a slice of carrot cake, 2 muffins and a chocolate Sterri Stumpy to replenish their reserves after having nailed Supertubes, and you'll have all the reasons you need to wear baggies.
  10. Just an observation - no science to back it up. Lots of roadies seem to amble along a snooze pace for 100km. That in my mind burns very little kJ. When we go for a 25km MTB ride it's like a HIIT session. Not because we are going balls to the wall, but just getting up the steep climbs takes a moer of an effort. So what I'm saying is, maybe the quality of the km's needs to be looked at, not just the total distance.
  11. so you don't look like look less like a chop
  12. I'm 51, 1.77m and 81kg. I eat a lot (but proper food and low on carbs), drink loads of beer and only ride on average 40 to 50km a week. I guess genetics plays a big roll
  13. 1.79 and 106kg with all those km's of riding?
  14. how's Welvanpas these days? Haven't been there in a long time. Weren't there some closures after the last fire?

  17. hope they check dog walkers as well. At least cyclists don't sh i t all over the place.
  18. from my observations, there are as many retarded cyclists as there are motorists. Hence my assumption that people, in general, are fkkn retarded.
  19. if any of you guys are inclined towards this type of solitude, do yourself a favour and make a plan to get out into the Cederberg. There are some locals who could use the financial support that a few mountain bikers can throw their way. These areas are so remote that they don't get any regular traffic and the rely on guys like us to make a living. DM me - I'll be happy to put you in touch with the accommodation providers.
