As a cyclist one gets as much agro from impatient motorists for not being in the gutter as they do from not being in single file.
BTW, I only ride 2 abreast on jeep track. When it's sometimes 4 or 5 abreast. And sometimes when we are both on the shoulder in the yellow line. And after 40 years of riding in the traffic I think I have developed and retain an acute sense of self preservation.
But this incessant criticism of other cyclists doing stuff we don't approve of is a waste of all our time. Does anyone here seriously believe I will cause the death of another cyclist 2km down the road because I didn't come to a complete stop at a red robot? Or because I held my ground where it was not safe for me to ride in the gutter and have that car overtake me where there was not 3 metres of roadway?
You strike me as a very selfish person. Yes you and the cyclists with the same mentality as you affect us all. Rules are there for a reason. Have you ever stopped and thought what if every person does as he pleases? Wether in a car or on a bike you must obey the rules of the road.
We are the first to cry when cyclists get hit and demand our own lane or nag about our rules being ignored.
Here's a news flash - You Are Not Above The Law!!!!
I would like to know how much pressure you guys run your forks and/or shocks given your weight and amount of travel. I always seem to find the pressures given on forks very hard, I like a very plush ride in the front and could use some good advice on how to set up a rockshox sid/monarch rt3 properly, any tips for a more plush fork with good small bump damping?
Setup:
Fork: +95psi, -100psi
Shock: 200psi
Weight: 160lbs/75kg
Travel 100mm front and rear
Great reply, but where do I post my add?
In the "complete bikes" section.
Not mine. Rather a present for my wife.
Hahahaha Lil Wayne looks like Lil Wayne.
Reminds me of going to res, always the 2nd and 3rd years giving the 1st years *** thinking they are the bees knees since they have been there longer than you, in afrikaans theres a great saying - pispot het nou ore gekry.
Anyways, there are the audi, bmw and range rover drivers umong us cycling folk so don't mind them.
R 20,000.00
Just read a few pages again after reading up on some links, very good info, thanks guys.
Hmmf! BMW driver, figures.
Also seem to see a strange pattern appearing...
That little plastic thing inside a rockshox to extend/reduce the travel is also like R250. Glad I have a spare.
The sticker says "If you F*@# like you park, you'll never get it in" 10mm x 150mm very sticky, stuck centre of driver's side window. Dunnit, it works.
Where can we get some?
Was at canal walk the other day and this poepol parks his black mitsubishi double cab over 2 parking spaces, and at the lifts, not even far away. So gatvol of these people. Would love to slap a sticker on his windshield.
At Stellenbosch you get greased if you park on spots that don't belong to you. Works wonders.
http://www.cwcycles.co.za/ - you have a choice between the maxxis crossmark or monorail. Both good, and both will last you very long. Make your pick
Too many tire threads.
ma stadig...
It's all as confusing as an ANC policy document.
Geldmaak storie as jy my vra.
Silverback is a good make, but have a look through the classifieds on this forum, you might find something better at the same money.
+1
I would go for that full XX volcan 26" DS. Very good deal for R17000 and that is prop neg.
You need a CSA license for all CSI-sanctioned races, OR you can pay a CSA day-license fee of R35 per race
Thanks, is there maybe a website one can check which races falls under which bodies?
The benefit of the lisence is you don't have to pay the R35 day lisence for every event you do.
So which races are done by PPA and which CSA? Or do you need a csa license for ALL races?
I specifically have Western Cape races in mind.
Funny thing about that clip; there was only one guy not busted for doping/suspicion of doping in that top bunch (Zubeldia) ok 2 if you include Cuddles who's further down.
and their not wearing helmets
I think we as motorists forgot the fact that it is illegal to drive in the yellow lane, it is an emergency lane, and not there for people to just stop and turn on their hazards or move into so that someone can pass you.
I also sometimes ride on the wrong side of the road when I see fit. Paarl's mainroad as well as the road to jonkershoek is pretty safe for cyclists but one I get on the back roads with trucks and 120km/h speed limit I want to see when someone is not paying attention, tank yuu!
Good article regarding the different types of fat burners: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/girard6.htm
Phedra cut and biogens phenadrine are all the same, they don't work. Out of experenience only supplements that work, is myocuts or universal cuts.
as HDW, abs really do start in the kitchen, that 1cm of flab is very hard to get off.
Suggestions:
Combine your routine with some ab excercises
Drink 1 cup of sugar and milk free green tea every morning and night.
Minimise your bread and dairy intake.
Do more training in the fat burning HR zones.
PS: since I started jogging I have dropped 1kg, considering I weighed 75kg and is 1.85m tall I think that is good.
Since I have driven my dad's giant 26er I don't quite know what the big 29er hype is about (I was also on that band wagon), I would not mind swapping my 29er cannondale for a very nice dual suspension carbon scott
Exactly what you shouldn't be doing.
I think all riders should learn to ride and ride well on flats before even considering clipping in.
Mind giving us beginners some tips on proper riding?

Our Russel Hobs was like R500 and it works just fine.
Only thing missing is a stick to stir with.
Tip: cut and freeze all your fruit going bad, and by freezing blocks of mango for eg calls for less ice thus a less watery smoothie.
