Community engagement in the areas around Roma, Ramabanta and Malealea have all but effectively wiped out the issues with begging, stone throwing and being a nuisance. While the kids will still ask for sweets, money etc (if you dont ask, you dont get), they will back down if you say you don't have anything, and they will then let you go on your way, or they will try to find out more about you and what you are doing in Lesotho. Friendly and no malice. Enjoy the experience.

Security will be no problem at either Roma or Ramabanta. Lock down will be fine. There are infinite tracks available, as all land is communal and no fences. Just take a GPS to keep track of where you are and to find your way bay. For bookings at Roma & Ramabanta. Ramabanta Trading Post and Malealea Lodge both offer good pony treks. Also, both lodges, and Roma Trading Post are the host lodges for the Lesotho Sky MTB event, so plenty good riding available. You may just need to carry a GPS as the trails are not marked. When are you planning on going? Just note that the Roof of Africa bike race is happening next month, so accommodation that weekend is non-existent. Roma & Ramabanta both have full self-catering, camping, DBB & Luxury room options. Prices range from R80pp camping to about R550pp DBB. Pretty sure Malealea will be similar priced.

Knowing Craig personally, and looking at the features of Prednisone & Prednisolone, I would speculate that his was an ingestion of an anti-imflammatory / decongestant / hemorrhoid medication that had these active ingredients, and not an attempt to gain an advantage though 'doping'.
