  1. Don't ride on the N4 from Hectorspruit to the Border. Its way to Dangerous with all the chrome trucks. Rather take the Ngwenya Lodge/Marloth Park turn off just past Hectorpruit and ride through Komatipoort to the Border. Much safer.
  2. Thats pretty awesome, Thanks Robbie.
  3. Just a quick question for the experts; My friend is emigrating and wants to sell me his 1.2Kva Generator. He mainly used it when they went camping. Will 1.2kva be enough just to power my Wi-Fi router, tv and tv box, and maybe my PS5 and monitor?
  4. Started out pretty good, slowly but surely building up the mileage again. But then I got a bad case of Influenza in October. (I personally thought it was Covid). Since then, I struggled to run a 5km without walking. Feels like my lungs are only working at 50% capacity when running.
  5. Thanks, appreciate it. Will get the AXA too. Better safe than sorry.
  6. Not really Cycling related, but hopefully someone on the hub can help. Has anyone use Discovery's International Travel Benefit for a Schengen Visa Application yet? I am with Discovery health, so it will save me a couple of R's. Or should I use AXA instead.
  7. Just had a look at that race, and I like it a lot.. Its something different, and not so hyped up as UTMB. Think I will def considered it, also not as expensive. I'm slowly building my fitness back, and cant wait to get back to running trail races again.
  8. The only negative side to the Western States and Leadville are the damn long waiting times for a US Visa.
  9. Sucks Big Time. And we actually have some of the best mountain running races in the world like UTCT. Money Talks I guess. 🙄
  10. +1 for the Hoka. I'm using Hoka's after my Spinal Fusion, and i am super happy with them. Light as a feather and more than enough cushioning. For my trail runs on weekends, i am still using my Nike Terra Kiger. But will soon change to Hoka Speedgoat 5.
  11. No ways, Adele is your sister. Damn, she is very good runner. She is def a future Comrades winner.
  12. Stu, well done on your awesome Comrades time. All the other hubbers, well done on finishing. This Comrades gave me big FOMO. Will definitely enter again in the next year or 2.
  13. And the August start actually doesn't look to bad...
  14. Jeez, Jim Walmsley look strong at the moment. I hope he keeps it up...
  15. Just Happy Comrades stayed almost exactly the same as it was 95 years ago. Except for the new August date off course. Wonder if they will stick with it. Read a lot of comments, that people don't like the new date.🤷‍♀️
  16. Walmsley looks good, I really hope he takes it. But Kilian is a beast on those Mountains.
  17. I was thinking the same thing, we got plenty races to qualify and get stones to enter the lottery. But UTCT emailed me this when I asked about it? "UTCT doesn’t award stones for UTMB as we are an independent race. Stones are only awarded to raced owned by UTMB" So now it got me confused about their qualifying criteria? Seems a bit weird to me.
  18. Seeing as the UTMB is also on this weekend, I have a couple of questions about their entry procedure. So they changed their Entry system from points to running stones. So does that mean the trail runners in SA wont be able to qualify anymore for the UTMB in any of our 100 miler or 100k races, we only got qualifier events? The reason I ask, is I read on their website only UTMB World series events and majors gave out stones.
  19. Thanks @ScottCM. It's only the first couple of km's that I'm feeling good,lol.
  20. Slowly 🐌 getting there. Its funny how you appreciate things so much more once you get a 2nd chance. Like walking on a 5km run 😅😅😅.
  21. After a back operation and no running for 2+ years, I thought my running days are over. I probably Read 100's of articles about back fusion's and returning to running etc. So going against my local house Doctor's wishes, I consulted Adrian le Roux from Cape Town and send him my medical info and type of fusion i had etc. He came back to me and said I could slowly return to running and build my base again bit by bit. But I must still continue with my TRX and strength work I'm still doing at the moment. So I bought the new Hoka's Clifton 8 and will prob start slowly again like a snail 🐌 this afternoon. Super happy I can start running again. I was getting gatvol of just walking around the block..
  22. shot, will give you a follow
