  1. I can walk, but not fast walk. Otherwise my back and my leg start to hurt again. I went for a walk with my wife yesterday, tried to walk a fast pace just to see how it goes, but as soon as i did, my leg went numb and i could feel it in my lower back.. Felt kinda weird not to jog, but atleast i can still walk and get out.
  2. Dont worry, I'm watching Heartland with my wife atm .. I must admit, i kinda like it. It's a pretty good wholesome series. Kinda strange to not hear any swear words or see any kind of nudity..
  3. I'm sorry i couldnt give you any good news or hope. But everything happens for a reason. It might not make sense now, but someday it will..
  4. I will def go and see a Biokeneticist. Thanks for the kind words. Strange how life throws you a curveball when you least expect it.
  5. Kambaku Golf Club. Yip, open for visitors. I once saw elephants on the course.
  6. It got so bad that i strruggle to get out of bed in the morning because of my lower back pain. I Even bought a new bed thinking that the Mattress is old. So my wife actually dragged me to the doctor. Moral of the story, always listen to your wife
  7. Thanks @swissvan . Our 9 hole golf course is one of the top 5, 9 hole courses in SA. Right next to the Kruger park. It does resemble a bit of Leopard Creek.
  8. Hi JuddMan, Ive been diagnbosed with Spondilotithesis and Spondilosis about 12 years ago, and i was able to run and train like normal ( hard headed. not listening to Doc's advice). That was up until 2 years ago when i started getting serious backpain, and the last 5 months my leg started going numb with pain, together with this pins and needles feeling. So i went for a scan last week and it shows that i have fractures in the Pars Interarticularis, loss of lumbar support, Lumber lerdosis and loss of disk space. I have been told, that i can never run again. It was a huuge shock, but at the end, your health is more important than a road or trail run. I'm goign to start swimming and just keep on playing golf ( I walk my 18 holes). I learned the hard way that running isnt everything, especially if you have a young children and you still wanna do stuff with them. *Just my 2c worth...
  9. Wanted to say the same about 2020 ... So glad this year is almost over... Hopefully it can only get better...
  10. Awesome well done.
  11. Happens to me as well. I just spray them with my water straight in the face, and follow up with the "F" and "S" word.....
  12. Aleck Skhosana is a joke. Actually the whole ASA is. Will be interesting to see how are they going to have qualifiers without any water-tables. And roadies don't like to run with backpacks..
  13. I haven't thought about that. Thanks Jewbacca, that's actually a pretty cool idea.
  14. The quiver is only for the slab vests. Can you maybe send a pic of the DIY version please.
  15. I can tuck it into the pouch, but i'm afraid it will maybe tear the pouch
  16. Hope someone can help me. I have a Salomon Adv Skin 3 12l vest and i recently bought the Sense Ultra Foldable poles. My vest does have the 4D Poles attachement, but when the poles is folded up, it's way to short to fit into both the top 4D attachement and bottom pole holder. And its a schlep to fasten it to the attachments on my vest while out running. Does anyone have a DIY plan that works way better?. Because i cant seem to find anything on the net.Was thinking of maybe using Quick Laces and attaching it to the bottom of the vest? Otherwise i'll have to buy the Pulse waistband from Salomon.
  17. I watched Travelers, just for Marcy.. Damn she is hot..
  18. Watched 'My Octopus Teacher" with my wife yesterday. Was one of the best wildlife documentaries i have seen in a long time. My wife cried her eyes out, and i must admit, i was a bit emotional at the end....
  19. Very interesting. I suppose if its true and goes ahead, all the Ultras will prob move up their dates closer to Comrades.
  20. It's def gonna be tough. And it's going to be a staggered start...
  21. Hi Raab, yes i ran it last year as well. Pretty awesome trail run. Brutal climbs but the scenery makes up for it. I saw on their website that this year there wont be any refreshment stations and no supporters are allowed. And in this October heat, its going to be extra tough. There are a couple of streams where you can fill your bottles and bladder up.Just bring your own beer. Last year they weren't selling any beers, except for the Beer got when you finished.
  22. Saw it on your social media. It looks really cool..
  23. I have the Nike Pegasus 36, and a little bit disappointed. I only have about 597km on them, and the rubber on the heels are totally worn out. Previous Pegasus lasted about 900-1000km.
  24. That is one insane race... I will get lost very very easily..
