  1. I am in the process of building a SS and I want to re-purpose a SRAM Rival Compact crankset since it has a 34T blade. I want o fit to my On-One Scandal frame. The BB Shell of the frame is a 73mm and I know that the road crank is designed to be used in a 68mm shell. The spindle is shorter than a mtb crank but it is still long enough to fit through the shell and for the non drive side arm to be attached. If I torque the crank to spec then it doesn't turn at. If I tighten it to the point where there isn't play it still spins nicely. But I am not sure if this would have adverse effects on either the BB or the crank. Is what I am trying to achieve at all possible?
  2. If it works out then it is indeed excellent value for money.
  3. Agree with the "No supplier/manufacturer has had a 100% satisfaction record" statement. The counter on multiple positive experiences from Momsen, not so much. All positives where for minor stuff, handelbars, posts, etc. Not going to get into it again. My experience is that the quality and service of Momsen is crap en I will spread the word far and wide.
  4. I bought a 26" Carbon from China, took 6 months to arrive. So it's not an exact science.
  5. Saw the Rapide in real life the other day on a ride. Looks very very nice.
  6. Don't buy that. No support or after sales service. I've been down this road.
  7. Die Formula R1's gaan jou omgeveer dubbel kos as die XT's. Maar as jy bereid was om XX te koop is die Formula's 'n baie beter opsie vir dieselfde prys.
  8. Formula R1's is my choice, Awesome Brieke!
  9. You have just confirmed that you don't get my point. It's not rocket science. Only reason we know Riis doped is cause he admitted it. You cannot find someone guilty of doping if he hasn't tested positive. And by the same account if he hasn't exceeded the maximum level. Then they were within the rules at that time. Not true? I just don't see how this will be good for cycling. I am not a Lance fan boy but Lance has not 1 positive test against his name. And yet he is presumed guilty. Then I stand to say that all cyclists are guilty of doping. There is just nothing to prove it. And the mechanism of disproving it is flawed.
  10. Just asking if he tested positive or not. The possess and traffic is a different matter. If EPO is an illegal substance then he should be prosecuted.
  11. Not necessarily my hero. It's about being consequent. The whole testing and doping process is a joke. All I am saying is that you can't now test for stuff 10 years ago. If he tested positive then, he should have been banned then.
  12. Did he test positive for EPO in the 90's?
  13. The question is was the stuff he was taking illegal at that time? On the banned substance list? Nope. Then he did not take anything illegal to enhance his performance. Retrospectively all he has done then is identified the substance to be put on the list to which should be tested for. USADA owes him some remuneration for his time and effort then . I promise you, everyone from squeaky clean Bradley Wiggins to known dopers like Ivan Basso are still using stuff today that will be banned in a couple of years. They might as well stop racing now already.
  14. Well said. You cannot be retrospectively fined or banned for substances that was not on the banned list or for which no test existed at that point in time. You can use that knowledge gained to update the current list of substances and tests. If they change the speed limit today on the N1 to 100km/h will everyone be fined that drove 120km/h yesterday? Pointless.
  15. Pointless and Useless exercise. I think that USADA is trying to restore faith their procedures and tests. Currently more riders are being banned/suspended due to hearsay evidence regarding possible doping than actually positive tests. I don't understand how multiple institutions with the same evidence can yield different findings.
  16. By the way, don't forget Dennis Menchov? He has had a quiet build up, but is always in contention.
  17. Agree, if they can get through the first week unscathed. BMC have shown how well they can deliver/protect Cadel. Sky, not so much.
  18. I know Frank will probably the new GC leader but Fuglsang might be an interesting dark horse. Since he was the leader for the Giro but was injured. So he should have some form at this point. Plus he can TT.
  19. Levi could be good as well Probably with Evans the only other GC guy that can hold his own in the ITT against Wiggins. Hope Evans does the repeat. Just to give Hincapie a proper send off.
  20. +1 Saw the 970 Element in real life the other day. It's truly a thing of beauty.
  21. I've done it a couple of years ago and it is well worth it. I still did a course which included the tools needed to service your bike. I don't think it's done like that anymore though. Johan is very knowledgeable and you will save yourself lots of money by doing your own servicing.
  22. The majority of XC racers currently run 1x10 in any case, so this will definitely be an option for them.
  23. It's not long at all but '***' hard! If you want to test your climbing legs then you go there.
  24. I think the dual 27.5" would be an awesome addition to the market. There should be loads of interest.
