  1. I have been lusting after the 101's myself but I cannot get myself to sell my Shamal 2 ways.
  2. the zero's vs the ones also have a bearing change to ceramic and they weight less, and have Carbon hubs which look nicer too. 2) Have you ridden tubeless? I am and it's fantastic - super comfortable and lekker not carrying a tube! the feel is better too, plus running stans means quick sealing of small niggly flats that would normally mean a tire change. Ask Jos Le Roux. He rode the TDB on mine and loved them so much he wants a set of his own. also cut the rear tire but it sealed and he still finished the stage losing no time.
  3. I have to agree...i stopped in on my way home to pick up some brake pads... I was served almost immediately and while I was waiting, 4 other staff offered to help, My salesman updated me twice and even went outside to watch my bike (on the back of my bakkie in the parking lot) while I paid. Good stuff guys
  4. Except the Felt weighs a ton compared to the Spez and that headtube looks like an elephants long flat head.
  5. I use chammy cream daily...it helps settle the toolbox into position and keep it movable. as well as softening the saddle connection. I have ridden dry a few times and it just feels wrong. i dont get Chafe or anything, it just isn't as comfortable. I ride 5 times a week and yeah you know what they say - prevention is better than cure.
  6. I agree...pity we wont get the Mclaren one. The Matt paint is wicked
  7. Calm down there are more colours..and this one is not coming to SA. There is a Black/Red frameset coming and the Full Sram Red Bike in White/Red. http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCProduct.jsp?spid=60781&scid=1001&scname=Road
  8. Look 695 is in the same territory, and the Dogma... and I've seen those around.
  9. Put me on the waiting list please! Damn that is sexy...pity they got a rear puncture on it already
  10. Popcorn time! hahaha...three issues in one thread, this will be good!
  11. Eldron is spot on.. I will also add that: Full Sus = 26er HT = 29er i will make an exception to this rule for the S-Works Epic 29er
  12. he probably bought it - but you need to find the source to stop the viscous circle and more bikes going missing
  13. I run red and switch between 53t and 54t blades without even moving the FD. No fidling on the fd required.
  14. Are you sure the rings are installed in the right "orientation" they need to be in specific areas so the ramps and pins "pickup" the chain properly... May be that... also at very low "mechanic on a bench speed" they sound dreadful, but when riding at the right speed they pickup much faster
  15. Darren Lill rode it in 37 mins or so with a road bike on cyclocross wheels back in 2007 or 2008 in the Mast Challenge. You can ride it on a road bike with standard wheels - I wouldn't do it myself though, the bottom used to be smoother when this was done, but now there are two sections that are way more rocky than they used to be. You would be better off on a rigid forked 29er on mtb slicks.
  16. The pro's actually used a modified FD with a RED upper linkage and the Force blades for added stiffness so they could shift under immense power. That isn't really a consideration for us mortals.
  17. been running red for two years now and only used red FD's. No problems... When you say twitchy...what do you mean exactly?
  18. This year is my 10th and my fastest was last year in 2:50
  19. Rode my 1st Epic on Maxxis crossmarks. - although i think Monorail front and crossmark rear is better. LUST 2nd Epic on Spesh Fastrak LK's - also very good and way lighter. Maxxis was more bullet proof. Get your pressures right before hand, spesh likes to be a little harder than maxxis
  20. I will definitely bitch slap that Tjop
  21. PS not everyone is on the hub - so if you see a chop, please tell him to not be a chop.
  22. Can everyone please obey the traffic laws strictly over the next week at least - It's Argus time, there are loads of riders on the roads but doing stupid things make us all look like moving targets at this time of year... Last night in peak traffic 4 okes are cycling down the M3 - What The F*%& are you thinking!! Dont be stupid. this is against the law and only makes drivers hate us more. Ride in single file. Be courteous - acknowledge a gap in the traffic and thank the motorist, also thank then if they wait for a decent spot to overtake. Use hand signals STOP AT LIGHTS Use LED lights in the early hours and late evening. Admit when you are wrong - don't simply start swearing at cars. Smile and wave. Please try to avoid being stupid - cos stupid people become dead people, and if an infuriated driver misses you and happens to find me next, how would you feel knowing it was you that angered him into taking me out? PLEASE!!!!!
  23. Can I ride SS Champs on a geared bike if I promise not to shift? I swear cross my heart I wont...you SS okes are a lag so it shouldn't be a problem
  24. Doooood....liiike ...how come these things aren't in Cape Town ey bra...jeez....like um ..Ya...we also wanna race you know. Check you okes next month in June maybe...
