  1. Personal choice is good for mature societies. Kids, people that think like kids (enjoy risk taking behaviour) and people that are dependant on others for their healthcare should not be allowed to make their own decisions. This should apply to alcohol, smoking and ideally also to having children. Let rip...
  2. Remaining questions: Can NQ do it again this year? Is NQ now a better climber than Chris Froome (now that he has also learnt patience)? What happened with the motorcyclist and marshal involved in the crash? What steps (if any) can be taken against spectators that physically touch or interfere with riders? What will I do in the evenings while on my spinning bike?
  3. If you are with Hollard you should contact Nick direct - I doubt he wants to take on another Hubber this week.... Sorry mate, I hope you get sorted.
  4. ... and 'Dale keeping us in the picture when we did not have visuals. Bravo indeed!
  5. I found the letter and read it. Very benign. Fun riders riding all over the road stuff. I dont know who Andrew Joubert is but I believe some personal issues are at play here.
  6. I was also interested in seeing how well the seeding worked i.e how many B's got into A's. My impression is it worked well.
  7. I am afraid I will have to wait for a slightly less eloquent version to grasp what is being said...
  8. Luckily the law of averages says you will have many hours of good riding now. Sometimes we need the bad days to make the good ones stand out. Bad Luck.
  9. The 2 points being made that1) drivers are more aggresive towards cyclists wearing helmets Who believes that in this country? It was done in Europa for commuters. Change laws or enforce them but to leave out the ONLY protection you have is silly. 2) The helmets must be stronger : even motorcycle helmets dont protect against all injuries. It remains to prove that the current accepted protocol of wearing helmets makes your outcomes worse. All I can think of is that it messes up your hair when using a helmet, if that is important to you then we should not be having this debate.
  10. This guy is a bullshitter and an attention whore. 1) "I have cycling for 40years and I have been knocked off only once" 1.1 If in forty years you only came off once you are not doing any real cycling 1.2 A series of one is anecdotal and means nothing 2) "I see lots of people in bike accidents and these flimsy little helmets dont help" 2.1 You clearly dont understand the concept of pre-selection. It invalidates your statement. It means that the thousends that dont come to you, were saved by their helmets! 3) "I wear a cowboy hat and cowboy boots. I look completely mad" 3.1 Attention whore. The excact reason you are making this stupid statement - for attention.
  11. So you have no opinion on the race - just unhappy that your lucky packet was not great?
  12. I hope the Mafia gets involved in sorting out that moron of a fan! I hope this initiates changes to the drunken fans having free access to sportsmen. I hope he also sues the fan for assault.
  13. What a week for Movistar! They have a rider on the front row for tmrw's Italian MotoGP as well.
  14. Cataldo and Roche try once more...
  15. So Quintana to dominate once more or will he go into a holding pattern with job done. He just appears so serene and composed I find it hard to think that he wants to win just to show dominance (a la Armstrong). Or is a racer a racer -always?
  16. ... and after a few hours of riding. I cannot express how much they impress me. Miniature Supermen!!
  17. I have been critical of Advendurence in the past. I skipped all their events for 18months. I would like to give them a BIG thumbs up today. I think the big change was the manner in which the batches were sent off. Worked well! Route was very similar to 2y ago. It is never nice to join the shorter route backmarkers but it just seemed better managed today (were I was). I lost a water bottle so I apologise for adding to the post-race clean-up. Reasonable first race back. 3:22ish from B. Well done Wessel, Gavin, Fritz and the team.
  18. Let the games begin. I am using my hiking SPD's today. Mantra for the day: Rubberside down!!!
  19. Cycling is more of a team sport than rugby. So yes his team got him the win, but will he be able to get the OGE guys to work for him?
  20. Eina man. The second big one a some years. The first was well done but already you have arthritis starting in the wrist. This one will heal and rehab easier and better. Good luck mate!
  21. He should go fill in for the Schleck sisters
  22. I had a lot of teething problems with my Di2. Steep learning curve for mechanicals. Now I wont go without it (despite loosing shifting on D1 of the Panorama). I am VERY ready for this. Yeah Baby
  23. Nope, he was winking at the camera.
