Stage 1 Badplaas done. Now I am VROT! What do the Pro's do? Surely they must get vrot in the Grand Tours sometimes! Dont know what to do. It is an expensive "training camp". I really dont want to pull the plug.
Man I suffered today. So glad I am not a pro that turned home with 150km and a huge climb in my legs. The wind was pumping into me with a 8km climb straight ahead at the turn home. We had to get up very early to be packed and transported. Waited in the cold until 9:30! I doubt that more than half of the Open bunch will be back tmrw- it was HARD! I timetrialled for more than 100k. Right now the headcold is winning.
Ready to start Stage 1. Flippen cold. I have a snot nose - so no gunning anything for me. At registration it was only me (and the admin ladies that wieghed more than 70kg) - clearly the faster guys out here.
The flat start with lots of loose sand makes the start a bit dodgy. Get a few drags in before the really loose sand. The portage up that narrow little gorge at ?40ish was also crap.
I have a PM on my stationary bike. It is invaluable to me. Only reason I dont have one on my bike is because I like to swop wheels. Maybe rather crankbased if that is your issue too? Looking at quarq (I remember 'Dale did the footwork and thought that was the best option).
I buy online a lot. CRC, Evans, Wiggle for stuff you cant get here or on 60% specials. Local shops are good and I have been lucky and have had good service allround. Online from Hubbers works well but I pick the seller very carefully.

Georgie is a great guy. He is a huge supporter of cycling and spends a lot of time and money to develop the sport. I have done two Tuli's with him and really find it interesting when he tells the stories about the goiings on on the inside of the team car at TDF. Good one Georgie!!!
I dont think we must completely forget that Brad started most of this by being a pain in the arse. He must have thought he was untouchable. Even if he does make it back in by some miracle, the terms will have changed a lot.
Twice I have commented (in my most neutral tone) on ads. Both times I was PM'ed by the sellers and berated. Surely if you sell on the hub it implies that you are open to reasonable comment. I think we have a bit of a "gatekeeper" function, or is that the buyers own risk? I delete my comment and replace it with: " comment removed by request from the seller"
