  1. it's a relay though - not so? So team mates (if you don't do solo obviously) do certain sections.
  2. I am not sure that I will be prepped enough. My mate is keen to do it. I have just started mountain biking (getting up to 40km events) and not sure if I am biting off more than I can chew. Just keen to see what the vibe is and whether it's a cool race
  3. Hi Guys, Anyone doing it? I am mulling it over... Just thought I would put it out there http://www.desertdashnamibia.com/ Looks fun!
  4. Ja, I normally ride from Rivonia going up to greenside. Heard from randburg nando's upwards it's ok
  5. I was contemplating riding the spruit alone on the weekend. How safe is it? I know dudes live there but have ridden it a few times. Any bad experiences?
  6. Riding in the dark is more interesting
  7. The kneecap itself and the sides of the kneecap. Basically the front of the knee. There was damage done last year and I am sure it's irritating it. But Slick helped a lot, so with some physio we'll see how things go.
  8. I don't know what "floating" is. All I know is that the pedals are really small
  9. Thanks everyone for the help Slick, I would appreciate that... thank you
  10. Thanks Iron, perhaps I need to a bike shop and try get a set up. Thank for the help
  11. Shimano cleats and Ryder pedals... They were pedals left over so didn't bother buying another set.
  12. Thanks - So how must they sit? Do you adjust them to a certain angle?
  13. Hi Guys, Quick question. I bought Bontrager shoes the other day and used them pretty much for the first time on Sunday for a 30km race. Needless to say, by the 20km mark I could barely pedal, as my left knee was so sore. I do have an old injury from last year, but then at the end of the race I felt both knees were very tender. I spoke to a colleague yesterday and he suggested that it could be the cleats not being positioned correctly, or at the wrong angle. Could this be the case? Like I said, I have never used shoes before and am not sure whether it's just my knees getting used to them or whether something is wrong. Would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.
  14. It's awesome - I did the downhill back when I was at varsity at Stellies. Had such an awesome time. I had no shocks, smooth tyres and a *** bike. Point being, I had an absolute jol. It's beautiful and deadly at the same time... wiped out well and proper a few times. But that didn't stop me from having the time of my life.
  15. Yup! Sigh... those were the good old days
