  1. This was 05h30....Keep moving, don't stop....cept for pics...
  2. Depending on the model, its not that difficult, just need to find a battery, they are available on Amazon
  3. That "scary when wet rubber mat" slide even gets me shaking in the dry!!!!
  4. Get a gravel bike....all trails will be "gnar"🤣
  5. I have one too, and it sure does provide peace of mind HOWEVER....I suggest you don't totally rely on it for your view behind you...I have had a few (very few) false negatives ie the unit said no car but there was one..can't explain the circumstances but the first time it happened, I knew I always had to give a confirmatory glance backwards before moving more into the road
  6. The trail next to the road climb up to Constantia Nek from Hout Bay is a life-saver, if you and your mates have opened that up, then well done...I did it up there once before that trail was opened and it was a death trap but now its one of my favourite climbs. If you could find a way to link Valley Road-Waterfall Walk to Orangekloof Road then round the back of Houtkapperspoort and come out at the carpark at the roundabout at Constantia Nek, all way away from the road, then you'll be my hero! Finding the gate through Ruiteplaats estate was another bonus and much more enjoyable way to get up and down Suikerbossie!
  7. Yip, that's what I plan, hope to just get the 11t...not sure if it's possible without getting the whole cassette, it's basically new...
  8. Yip, both cassettes exactly the same, just that little 11t ....changing and riding all the other gears is smooth and even same as the other wheelset....I've seen other stamp marks in pics on the Web of the hg 700, on the 11t, so maybe stamps mean nothing, slight wear may just be the issue....it does not ride up or down like an alignment problem, just slips and jumps and skips while on the sprocket under pressure pedalling....
  9. Down a certain hill......
  10. Ja, the cassettes on both sets are exactly the same... it's only this one that skips....at the moment, I'm just swapping out the 11t one every time I change wheelsets...(I got different tyres on each set so quick to change from road to gravel) ...wear on the skipping one does not look bad at all, I can't see anything different...it's older though and comes from a bike with a different rear DR (slx with clutch)... I don't want to have to fiddle with the indexing or alignment every time I change wheelsets though so I'll just look for a new 11t TB sprocket...
  11. I have GRX 11 speed 2x groupset, 2 sets of wheels, one wheel set has an 11t sprocket stamped "RJ" which hops and skips with the GRX derailleur, the other set has an 11t sprocket stamped "TB" and is solid.... I can't tell the difference...is there...pics below...
  12. Ja, first timer up there...Garmin got 45% incline!!! not sure how accurate that is but it felt like it!!!..met a guy walking down that section who said you taking the hard route...I was semi-conscious at the time and only realised the impact of his assessment of my madness when I got to the top and found myself off course! Going right at that small bunch of trees just made no sense to me...at the time.... Hahaha, now I know....! Someone at the bottom said just keep turning left at any junction!!!!
  13. A long weekend of urban gravelling......
  14. Fresh from the edit bench, waiting for HD version..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4EV4CPkm44 PS first time up here and I did get lost and had a tough hike-a-bike....but all in, great ride....got there via Kirstenbosch/Newlands trail, then round Atlantic side, Llandudno, back up Constantia Neck..47.27km loop and 1626m ascent....
  15. Hahaha, OK, a bit of context...I'm referring to the topic...the Cannon ride, the route has you going up this short stretch which is a short-cut between jeep tracks...so UP, no.......DOWN,.....well that's debatable and depends on your skills and the size of your knaaters.....don't be ashamed, that excludes the majority of riders!!!!.🤣
  16. That's "Traill 11" according to Trailforks...that section is definitely not rideable, either hike-a-bike or you have to ride on past it way out towards below Queen's blockhouse and climb the switchbacks....from Rhodes Gate all the way to the King's Blockhouse is rideable with almost any MTB/gravel bike if you stick to the main jeep track....video coming soon!
  17. New trails day 2...jislaaik, nobody warned me about the climb to get here!!!! After doing Kirstenbosch just to get to the lower entrance...broken!!!! But happy!
  18. Peri-urban gravel adventures...
