  6. Quiet easy to replace, the hard part is finding the battery
  7. I understand the concept of walking and running against the traffic....and it holds for most situations...this stretch is not one of them.
  8. Easy...going down from the view point toward Noordhoek...road users have to use the left hand side of the road...that's the law...said runners are running up from Noordhoek to the view point and they run on the RIGHT hand side, up against the cliff....so there I am going down with the cliff on my left trying to stay as left as possible to avoid getting squeezed by cars behind me....only to encounter a runner directly in my path when coming round one of the numerous blind corners long that stretch.... Before I get it in the neck..I'm not including pedestrians/runners as a "road user"...I'm sure everyone knows what I mean...
  9. Those jumps there are PROPER, you can see it has taken a lot of effort and skill to build, last time I looked in there about a month ago, signs of lack or riding/maintenance were starting to show, I really hope the guys who "manage" that place get back and spruce it up and ride again as it really is a spectacular show when they flying over the jumps, would be a pity to let it get re-absorbed into the wilderness....
  10. That's easily one of the worst corners climbing out of Hout Bay, there's nowhere to go even if you are in single file and guys driving up gun it in their enthusiasm to get up onto the drive itself....add the wind on most occasions and yip, makes for nervous climbing to get round there... While we on the subject, and not to beat a dead horse RE Chappies, walkers, dogs, pedestrians, buses, locals, NHoekers, Hout Bay citizens, I'd like to throw in that special breed of sportspersons/people, the runners who run from Noordhoek side on the wrong side of the road...shoie, I've nearly lost my marbles on more than one occasion....fortunately have never had to unwrap one of them from my handlebars (even tho they are flared (but only just) and wrapped in camel leather and do tend to be wider than regular drops)...tap on wood!
  11. Southern Cross jumps.....hmmmm....epic but I believe it a well protected spot, from what I heard...ride at your own risk...you'll have to ask around about who "manages"that spot...
  12. This.....plus higher res and frame-rates

  22. I tried that new trail a few days back, what a blessing, I have used "old" UP version since it was cleared maybe a year or 2 back (?) but always descended on the road from the Nek to Hout Bay, this time I took the newly cleared path down and, man, what fun.....! So now from Tokai, up the Greenbelt, to the top of Southern Cross Drive, across and up that TBMT jeep track climb, over to Constantia Nek, down this new path to the first Hout Bay circle.....almost zero tar!!! Well done all involved!
  23. I use mine everywhere...on long gravel sections, I turn it off via the Edge widget to save battery but on the road...always ON...the new version will capture some interesting action behind you....
  24. Problems with PLA prints...the little "ears" keep breaking off....tried with more flexible ABS and better but base needs stiffer support glued to it
