  1. Was a random, and agree a pointless comment. Have to admit I don't follow the guys career. But thanks for the honesty.
  2. Thought he would have ridden it by now, interesting.
  3. Love everything except for the hanging cables from the rear shock, looks like it could get caught on your foot, probably never would but it would be at the back of my mind.
  4. Remember, not all bikes are made for SA, nor the purpose we use them for. I can imagine that this bike could help guys in Europe tackle some crazy mountains. Strangely this doesn't bother me near as much as guys who buy fat bikes. Fat bikes are made for seriously soft sand and snow, its like putting tire chains on your car.
  5. Its the standard that bikes are rated at so that their is a consistent benchmark.
  6. Totally agree the actual vid is bland compared to whats out there.
  7. Ive had a wheel recently rebuilt by Cycloworx in Petervale - cycloworx.co.za. Excellent service, great job and didn't cost a fortune. Give them a go.
  8. There are rides that leave from the Cycloworx shop. They ride most days, paused for winter, small group but nice guys. Ive ridden with them quite a few times. their site, www.cycloworx.co.za, Harry Steyn is the guy to speak to.
  9. Added to your list. These things seem a little obvious but why not list most of them. Cycling shorts Cycling shirt Helmet Shoes (socks) Gloves (will save the hands) Glasses (nice to have) 2 water bottles (don't forget to fill) spare tube co2 inflater (plus co2 bombs) patch kit small cycling tool (10kms, not really necessary, check and test the bike before hand) Tyre lever Race Board and Number Good idea is to pack the gear the night before so that you don't rush and forget things in the morning. Don't forget to check tire pressure.
  10. Ah, too true. Apologies, use to UK rules.

  12. Nope, have a read: http://www.bicycling.co.za/news-people/news-news-people/new-traffic-laws-affect-cyclists/
  13. Totally agree with you, and its a known fact that 2 abreast is actually a safer option. interesting article http://www.leicestershireroadclub.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=109.0
  14. You need to get your facts straight before you expect someone to take your advise. Its not against the law, South African traffic legislation in this regard is inconsistent with other countries, which allow cyclist to ride two abreast (but no more).
  15. Still no luck on this one anyone? it probably washed away with all this rain!
  16. Hi all, I'm hoping over the next few weeks one of my fellow riders will find my GoPro. Was lost today (Sunday 16 February) on a club ride at Van Gaalens. If anyone or you know of someone has found one please ask them to contact myself on 072 149 4705. Thanks all! regards, Michael
  17. Legends! thats what its all about, big hand to Linden Cycles.
  18. Yup it sucks but rather cover it up. You would be surprised on how well it works. Also aluminium doesn't rust but it does oxidise in a fairly short time.
  19. Nail varnish is good. My mate has a matt black bike and uses exactly that, just match the colour. ps make sure its the matt varnish and not gloss.
  20. I agree with Mudda, consider yourself F****g lucky! R40 sounds like a bargain vs the entry fee you just paid and not finishing.
  21. Found the Thule shop in Cedar Square very helpful. Also stock wasn't an issue with them. Cedar Square Thule +27 11 465 9763
  22. Which area are you going to be in?
