  1. Still can't look at a photo or even his name without getting tears in my eyes. The world cup in PMB made me very depressed...... I could actually see Burry riding there, giving Nino a run for his money.......... RIP Burry, we haven't forgotten about you!
  2. Thanks, Guess I will have to wait and see, otherwise just enjoy the ride........
  3. Bought somebody else's entry and starting in last group. See in the emails they send out that seeding changes will only be done on Saturday before the race, do you guys think they will change the seeding for me??
  4. According to their facebook page on the 6th of September.
  5. Cyclelab at Lynnwood bridge Concept cyclery in Lynnwood road Also a shop with social riding at Watermeyer shopping center
  6. Now why did I not think of that................O yes, I am meeting my bike at the start.
  7. If anybody has a transfer booked from Knysna to Uniondale the morning of the race which they are not going to use please let me know, I will take it. Desperately looking for a transfer.
  8. Hey hubbers Might have a chance to do this race thanks to work sending me down to Mosselbay the week before. Think I might have all the logistics sorted except the lift from Knysna to Uniondale the morning of the race. Does anybody have space for one person, I will sit still and contribute towards petrol.
  9. Hey Mons Just an entry or did you by any chance book transfer/accommodation?
  10. No, I did a SOK, (Sondag oggend Klapperkop)!
  11. Scott.......don't worry, not planning on using pepper spray on any fellow mtbikers..........although I have been tempted to use it on a couple of motorists.
  12. Ja, since Sundays are so peaceful, I did it.............Klapperkop, I mean
  13. My bike stands next to my desk, sharing an office, but luckily the others don't mind. Also leave about 2 pairs of shoes at work as well as shower stuff.
  14. Around Africa on my bicycle.............
  15. I have been commuting for about a year now, have a kway backpack and take laptop along almost every day (not based at the office all the time). Also take clothes, breakfast and lunch in the backpack. It is rather heavy, but I guess it makes you stronger........(but then again, home and office is about 5km apart)
  16. There are some clubs riding around White River/Nelspruit on Saturdays if you are there (cyclelab and Bell's cycling). Otherwise you can take the road from White River going towards Uplands and just continue straight towards the Klipkoppie dam (you will eventually get to a T-junction right is towards the dam, left loops back to the Sabie tar road). Not sure about riding it alone.
  17. Ummm, boyfriend doesn't ride (but he does clean my bicycle sometimes or provide support before races), and my riding partner is only available on weekends. Besides, I prefer to train alone during the week which is a bit of a challenge ito safety. Can't have it all I guess
  18. Hey Rex, good and u?
  19. Tx everybody. It doesn't seem that KK is any less safe than other places to ride during the week. RexF - I always carry pepper spray with me, and have a brown belt in karate, so at least I am not completely helpless See you all on the trails sometime!
  20. Was there yesterday and although I didn't go down the trails I saw a couple of mtb and walkers on the trails. Think it is fair to give it a try next week and decide if I feel safe or not. Thanks
  21. Guess you are right, only need a minute or two for mugging. Thanks.
  22. Vis (?) funny... I have a training buddy for weekends, during the week I like to focus on my own pace / heart rate. Just not easy finding places safe enough to ride alone. Klapperkop appeals to me since I have a 10km commute to get there and can then play around on the trails before heading home on the boring sidewalks and roads. Although, as I mentioned, not worth taking risks.
  23. Was the dodgy stories recent? Would love to do the trails during the week, but unfortunately a lady cycling alone is a bit of a soft target so I don't want to take the risk if there is the area is known for trouble
  24. Thanks Riaan
  25. Is Klapperkop safe to do alone during the week? I am referring to the trails, not the tar road......Any hubbers riding there during the week? Mornings or afternoons? Thanks
