  1. Thanks RR. Will give them a call, might not be able to be there at 4.
  2. Thanks Gen. So much to do, so little time .
  3. Hi G. Thanks for the heads up. I have done rides at Karkloof and it was fantastic. I will have to work during the day, so it doesn't allow for much time in the afternoon. However, I am driving through on Sunday maybe I will stop off at Cascades and then do Giba during the week (join the night ride if possible). We will be off diving at Aliwal Shoal from the Friday to Sunday but if the weather is sh@tty, maybe I can get another ride in. Will give you a shout if I need assistance. Thanks again. K
  4. Hi T. Thanks for the info. Please will you pm me your friend's contact details, then I can get more info from him. The Wednesday night ride sounds great, would like to join.
  5. Thanks for the advice, sorry you sold your MTB.............................
  6. Thanks EEE. Will contact them on facebook.
  7. Hi Hubbers. I am going to PMB/Durban in two weeks time. Will have to work during the day but was hoping to get some riding done. We are staying at Kloof (close to Krantzkloof NR) and thought I will be able to go to Giba, but now see that they close at 5, but members have 24hour access. Does anybody know where I can get some riding done in the afternoons, or can I ride at Giba after 5? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Seperate routes for 40km and longer distances at the end.
  9. Hi B There aren't any formal mtbike routes in the CSIR but there is a Jeep track around the back going up to the tower which makes for good hill repeats.
  10. Hi a.l. Well done on completing the Monster. I was in a similar situation last year (although I have done many races before the Monster) and finished in 7:30 .......This year after much more training I finished in 5:45. really wanted to do it in 5:30 but guess with the few extra km's the time is acceptable. Will be back next year for a 5:00. Just keep on doing mtb races, it gets easier...
  11. Hi Gen. Dont let the stress spoil your race. It is a beautifull race, if you are tired just stop and appreciate the view. I was very under prepared last year and still managed to finish. Mountain biking is about enjoying nature. See you on the route
  12. Earphones = DQ. Carefull, last year somebody got disqualified
  13. Loved this event, small field, great trails. Definitely back next year!
  14. Whoop hoop, almost time for LQ! Training didn't go as well as planned, but still looking forward to it. If there is anybody that will be driving from Nelspruit to Lydenburg on Tuesday afternoon, I would appreciate a lift and will be willing to pay the total fuel cost. See you all in Lydenburg.....
  15. Don't use them once the kitty was there, new ones from the bag......
  16. Kitty litter also dries shoes out........
  17. O my word, is that a CHALLENGE!! Just check you Sabie X from last year as well..................
  18. Did KK yesterday afternoon and again this morning. It was wet, muddy, no muggers or any other shady characters. Loved every minute of it. I followed your tracks Riaan (saw on Strava where you went). See you mostly stuck to tar, any particular reason? Have fun............
  19. Whoop hoop, rain and rumors have dissapeared. KK here I come (at 4 that is).
  20. Ja, the back route is hard (for me) in all weather conditions, that is why I like going there it is always a challenge......
  21. Yesterday afternoon as I was leaving the office the sun came out so I decided to take a ride up to Klapperkop but because it was so wet, I stuck to the tar sections. Saw a police car driving through at 17:00, so guess it is a good sign?? Couple of mtbikers there yesterday, although it seemed like most stayed on the tar, rain or safety? Anyway, if there is a "rain-break" around 4pm I will head back to KK, and do some of the trails as well, maybe the gravel road along the northern boundary.
  22. Was planning to be there aroun 5pm, but some serious clouds building again........seems like it is yet another none riding day. Maybe tomorrow?
  23. Are you going there this afternoon? See weather is clearing and I would love to go for a ride. Will be good to know somebody else will be around
  24. I am also there almost every day. Climbs are a great workhout and always a challenge. Was the mugging confirmed? Isn't there anything that we can do, surely we are not just going to accept it and not go to Klapperkop anylonger?
  25. Great, although the rainy weather which has been haning around for the past two weeks is a problem for training.....
