Another big rave for these guys. After getting very depressed with my noisy Avid trail brakes and after following the doom and gloom of the Avid brakes in the MTB Brake discussion last week, I went to Lynnwood Cyclery. They immediately said they know what is wrong, took my bike and fiddled with the brakes and after 20min I had my bike back, no noise and at no cost.......I have also done the BG fit and got a new saddle from them. I can really recommend them!

Did the 6 day solo this year, loved it and considered doing 9 day solo next year but I agree, at that price I would rather do the Cape Pioneer.....

From what I understand, if you have been swepted twice during the race you will not continue but come back the next year "when you are fitter"......

Dates are a bit confusing, I assume the marathon is on Saturday 27 July with half on Sunday 28 July? Would like some clarity before entering.

Hi. I do a lot of travelling for work and will have to take it week by week, but I am keen to ride whenever I am around, a bit non-committal I know. This week and next week I can do Wednesdays.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 310XT 2010 model mounted on my mtb. These units are suppose to be waterproof up to 100m, the problem is that it seems that water entered the unit when I washed my bike after a particularly muddy ride. Initially the unit switched on, but then froze and would not switch on or of or do anything else. I left the unit to drain the battery and tried again, but no, it is not working at all. I know that the unit is not under warranty any longer, but is there a chance that the unit will be replaced since it is supposedly waterproof? Any ideas, advice??

Did my first time registration and paid within 4min. Was very impressed!!!

Heading out there next weekend, diving in the morning and jogging in the afternoon to keep fitness levels up. Whoop hoop!!

I would also love to join weekday rides, mornings or late afternoons. My average speed is about 19-20kph, but 15kph would also work for me. However, I am also travelling a lot and will probably not be able to ride every week...........

I commute to work and back everyday, riding a mountain bike, 90% of the way facing oncoming traffic. However, since I am on a mtb, I mostly stick to sidewalks/cycling paths that you see in some areas in Pretoria. Pedestrians are not a problem, I just slow down when approaching them and if you ask politely they immediately make way for you. I found that when cycling with the flow of traffic most motorists will not wait until it is safe pass you, many cars come closer than 50cm to me.

Can anybody confirm if the Baberton marathon and half marathon are both on Saturday as per Advendurance race page? The 2013 Dirty Dates calender indicates that it is split over two days like the other races in the series. Thanks!
