  1. Got from Aliexpress, the plastic ones though
  2. had same issue with F29 - could only get 60mm. pulled about 30ml oil from above the air piston (should only have 5ml in there). and it was mixture of fox fluid (blue) and bath oil (green).
  3. Thank you Thinkbike Marshalls! Really appreciate your presence at the races.
  4. You two joined at the hip?
  5. I thought the purpose of the STARS league was just that - for people who dont qualify for the other leagues to cut their teeth in racing?
  6. The first rider to come down was not a league rider - he posted here stating that. So at least get your facts straight. It seems there are a lot of people jumping on the "lets blame the development riders for everything" bandwagon. Who are these "development" riders anyway? do they wear easily identifiable kit or something?
  7. Sori Guys only saw prererace's post now - you're welcome to add anything though.
  8. Hey Guys We are in the process of having new clubkit made (approx 150) - was looking for some advice on good quality manufacturers that won't cost an arm and a leg (we are a development club). Already have quotes from Le Tour and Loius Garneau (bit pricey). Funny enough Velotex have been slow in getting a quote back to us. Any recommendations welcome.
  9. Hi Ronelle Great pics! Did you manage to take any of the tandems?
  10. tubbys are crap (personal experience) -stay away! If you puncture, you are stuck on the side of the road. Sealant does not always work and then your expensive new tire is also trash.
  11. Only problem is they're blerrie heavy. But i'll take reliability over weight anyday.
  12. 1xksyrium : cracked around spoke hole after 1 year replaced with 1xksyrium sl: cracked in same place after 6months! been riding 105 wheels now for 3 years without any problems and still as true as the day i bought them.
  13. don't think alot of the backmarkers (whose brakes will not be up to it) are going to make that 90degree bend at the end of the steep section. and remember there aint no runoff like with chappies where speed can be scrubbed off. straight on is a brick wall!!
  14. Rookie, wot time was that and was it direction stellies or opposite?
  15. Hi Quayum, There is a track in Philippi (Cape Town), at the Police college stadium. We have tried to get access to it as individuals but have been unsuccessfull (these guys didn't even know what the banked oval was for!!). Maybe you guys can get us access from an official level. I know lots of guys who would try/train for track if it was more accessible/closer. Currently it's at least a 90min roundtrip to get to Bellville's velodrome. I, for one would rather spend that time training. This track would be perfect for the guys in the southern suburbs.
  16. Both the SL2's I know of is relatively small sizes.I just asked to see whether the bigger frames is included in this "cracking" dilemma.Wonder if it could be the way these frames gets made that could be the cause of the problem. 1time - where is the crack in the other frame that u know of?
  17. hehe maybe it's the power i wish i had
  18. size 54.5
  19. Actually TTi i'm playing around with that idea. Only thing is the new isp is still few months away.
  20. Hmm washed my bike over the weekend and discovered a crack on the new frame Above the front derailleur, behind the seattube. In fact that whole are behind the seattube feels really soft. I checked with buddy who has same frame and his is not like that. Frame is currently at LBS waiting for the agents inspection. LBS agrees it's not normal but apparently Specialzed has very laborious warrenty procedure where a report with pics first has to be sent to America for approval. So hoping to hear back today from them. Wondering if I made the right choice?!
  21. Thanks guys - I went with the SL2. Can't say that i'm sorry after a week of riding (including racing). Initial feelings are that that front end is very stiff. overall it also feels stiffer than my old giant tcr yet more comfortable - i think the word is supple.
  22. Thanks shortlegs - that's where my head is at. BUT, the SL2 being slightly cheaper and newer I had to consider it.
  23. 1time, I rode a medium giant so about 54 SL2.
  24. My frames cracked - need to replace it. Have narrowed it down to Giant Advanced ISP and Specialized SL2. Can't make up my mind which one. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  25. WTF?! How did the accident happen? I don't think anybody would willfully cause someone else to crash especially not in the F bunch!
