Here are some shots from last year

some good points there. When you are really tired you make silly mistakes.Remember to sign out guys,its something easy to forget. As everyone is getting going you walk past the sign out table. Be careful before Britstown and loxton and Ceres. The route takes you of the tar a few kilos before these towns ,when your brain is fried you can easily follow the road into town and its a serious time penalty. Its really a pain in the butt ----you can see the town right there but you turn off into the veld.

this is a big field and beds are in high demand at Van der Kloof ,,get there early. The next stage is brutal.

It's time to organize a LOTCR get together one weekend in Hogs.Then we can all Gooi the trails.

Why do you have 2 lights and taillights,make sure the e trax does not foul on the light

w\what size is your bladder I used the 3l and wrapped it in extra bubble wrap for insulation. Worked well

I did the 2 battery thing but charging is an issue as the stops are short. Please remember to run you light on the lowest setting where possible. I forgot to do that and my light died in the Tankwa.When your mind is tired you make silly mistakes. As long as you helmet light is good you will survive. If those bottles are not camelback toss them. Only use Camelback bottles they will save you.

is there a car drive service??

the Etrax is great .Battery life will cover the complete event

Nice setup.I used the same tri bars last year .Please remember to put lock tite on all bolts. also toss the normal bottles buy camelback bottles they will save you.There is nothing worse than trying to drink water that's 30 deg. The camelback bottles works like a dream.

for me ,getting the crowds out to the Munga is not what that events about.It is about me,myself and I saying,,,can I finish this monster. The thrill of spending many nights alone in the middle of nowhere with the Milky Way above and challenging myself to the limit,,that is the Munga . This event is not impossible to finish you do not have to be some superman ,what you need is discipline ,some training and vasbyt. I will never forget that feeling of rolling over the line,that moment in time what I will take to my grave. Get busy living guys ,time is short.

I feel its the 14hour days and camelback. Yes corrigations but mostly the time spent on your butt.

On the subject of butt cream I have been racing for many years and this years Munga is the first event where most riders have oily slimy seats. We slap on so much butt cream that it seaps through your pad onto your seat. I used some of the local anasetic cream but it only relieves the pain for a minute or two.

it would be interesting to do an survey on the riders and try to gauge the different wear and tear on the backsides. There should be like a scale like in earthquakes, to compare the severity of ass wear.1 slightly tingy--10 -worn down to the bone. It could be a thesis study for a post grad. ,
