I do feel for Her ,the physical side will heal in a couple of days but mentally a person goes into a very depressive state. Especially with all the hype around the attempt and the crowdfunding. Those 5 steps of depression comes to mind, but chin up Tegan all of us are still behind you. She will need all the positive vibes from all of us. There is no shame in bailing in a event. If you, at the time feel its the right call --do it--. Yes ,the next day all kind of thoughts spin in your mind but once hyperthermia sets in and you are deep in the kloof it can be life or death. At the Pioneer 3 years ago they cancelled the last part on the Swartberg as the temp went down to zero and it was raining. Dryland collected us all on the mountain and later dropped our bikes that we had to leave on the road to the summit. Rather give me Munga type 40deg than freezing

I did the JHB2C mud ride this year and there was a lot of Ebikes especially overseas riders. Generally they were skilled enough to ride the tech bits and they never got- windgat -. On days that are over 100ks they tend to catch you in the last 30 ks but the guys were friendly and did not come hairing past on some K#$ hill. It was the first ride that I did not get pi&*d off with them.

Im doing JHB2c this year , lost money when Covid hit. Please not another cancellation. Im thinking some gravel road riding where trails are gone.

Sad part is that the specials always run on non std sizes

I just finished a 4 day tour with Seamus in and around -Die Hell-4 days of riding with camping and braais every night .We had to supply our own food ,the backup Ldv was sorted . We hiked a bike down (Die Leer) into Die Hell and camped there night 1 It did not cost more that 2k all in. Great ride and great friends made, biketouring is the way to go.

The tail enders are in Tankwa, some tough riding there.Wonder what the wind is doing down the tankwa padstal road.That can either help them to make it or destroy them. Go go go.

I popped my fork seals down there because I love downhill but with a extra 5 kgs on the bike the forks were unhappy.

Hanno is strong,he is experienced in this race.Seems his strategy this year was start a bit slower then go full out.They are now strong on the way to Sutherland.Good gravel road with a bit of tar before town. Do not think they going to spend much time there.The section after Sutherland is windy as hell and a tough little pass before the big drop into tankwa.

Hansie and Kev are into Tankwa karoo now.Its gonna be boiling in there
