  1. Please carry on, I need a bit of entertainment
  2. Read this weekend on twitter "You may not be interested in veganism, but veganism is interested in you!"
  3. Hahaha reminds me of another forum where they had a similar rule. In stead of a piece of paper you had to have a spoon in the picture.
  4. Lekker Willie!
  5. Wow that`s incredible!
  6. Hey sweet cheeks, I fixed it for you #modest
  7. Thanks for the good news Eugene Its definitely not something technical so ja lets see what happens
  8. I was also hoping for a mistake like that from SARS. Unfortunately I also had to submit an objection, was done on the 1st of November. 60 day turnaround time for objections
  9. Beef, you dont want none so dont start none
  10. Saying "bring home the bacon" must be a big no no in your house Odi?
  11. +1000 It has definitely made me think about it. Maybe only on a personal health level but if that also helps to save the planet in a very small way,its a win win imho
  12. I did ask about the person doing the stunning. Its usually an older more responsible person doing the work. They use a pneumatic stunner and person also goes for intensive training. I feel for the Halaal oke though that has to do the slitting of the throats, I think they definitely have it worse.
  13. Also affects shelf life
  14. Done, I chatted to her now and she says we can make a plan. She is the COO of the abattoir.
  15. There is a halaal supervisor and quality controller present at all times. All animals bolted twice have to be recorded. Carcasses are also checked for blood splash which is an indication of an ineffective stun as well as pH levels. Independent inspection team will keep it for the vet to have a look at and if he isnt happy the meat is destroyed. Stun to bleeding has to be less than 60 seconds as per the law. So as you can see its heavily regulated.
  16. I have a friend working at an abattoir The Meat Act is very strict. Unannounced monthly visits from the state vet as well as animal welfare organizations and 3 monthly audits by the state. ISO certification on top of that and audited according to that as well
  17. As you always say "What about the children?"
  18. What you talk?
  19. For some it's a lifestyle choice - for most it isn't. Read it once more... For some it's a lifestyle choice - for most it isn't. Last time... For some it's a lifestyle choice - for most it isn't. Got it now?
  20. Eldron you keep posting studies that show that most people have no choice in being gay. That is not what you said in this quote though So fix this and we can all go ahead and finish our organic kale salads
  21. As per the link you supplied: Conclusion As a result of everything I have read, learned and experienced as a mental health worker, I long ago concluded that homosexuality is not a matter of choice. Instead, it seems quite clear to me that there is a combination of genetic and biological factors that cause people to become gay. Choice and willfulness have nothing to do with who does and does not become homosexual. Those who are gay have no more choice over their sexual preferences than those who are heterosexual. Vegan clearly not the same as being gay
  22. Interesting Please tell me more
  23. I have been to a couple of vegan restaurants with some family members who are vegan. Really delicious food. We are also planning to try the vegan thing for a month next year to see how it goes. At this stage not to save the world, just to spice it up a bit and try some new things.
