Yeah, I feel like the 2min gaps should have been revisited after the route change. Going over Vissers most bunches would have split and then later merge with the halves of the slower and faster riders from the batches around them resulting in groups more or less the original size. Now if two groups merge it might get really big.

For what it's worth the Perdeberg and Winelands races have been processed for seeding and reflects in PPA road seeding, but for some reason not yet on RaceTec website...

No, the penalty is for events that are older than 6 months. Adjusted winner time to account for a field that is not as strong as a typical CTCT. This shifts the bell curve. Beta to account for route difficulty and conditions. This stretches or compresses the bell curve. Penalty for older events. This accounts for uncertainty of whether you can currently repeat said performance.* *Penalties are grossly unfair the better your seeding. If you have a 10 seeding +6 is much more damaging compared to someone with a 30 seeding.

Yes, that is why they use an adjusted winner time. Edit: If by adjustment factor you mean the Beta value - That won't have any effect on the A-batch seeding if the winning time is not adjusted.

I get why that's frustrating, but I also get why it's necessary. The whole A-batch can't get a sub-1 seeding at some PPA Sportive.

I don't get how RacTec is operating these days. No Winelands and no Perdeberg in the seeding history. I don't need a seeding, but know of many riders that could use those to bump their groups for 99er.

Last time 99er was held we had changed to the PPA route with Vissershok first, and we were going to do that route this year, but now we are doing a downhill tailwind warm-up in the opening kilometers.

That's the old old route. 👀 The route we were going to do was the normal Tour de PPA route.

The final 20km was also the final 20km of the old route though...

I use 100m elevation for every 10km as 'n marker for a hilly route. This race will likely only wake up in the second half with rolling uphill and a headwind to animate things.

So km zero break? 😛

No replacement climb sadly, so no real climb on the entire route. Still wrapping my head around how this race might unfold...

We went to cycle Vissershok after Durbie Dash last year. Road wasn't great. Still really disappointing to have a tough route watered down. Rain predicted, so might even literally get watered down...

My daughter has the Kokua Jumper. That suspension really really helps with confidence when figuring out how to self propel.

A brutal start followed with chances of crosswinds followed with some rollers has been replaced with a 88km warm-up. I guess the crosswind section is still there, but without the pre and the post obstacles around it that 6km section is too early in the race and not long enough to impact the outcome. The old route was one of my favourites. This sounds like a snooze.

Quite disappointing.

One of my teammates and at least one more rider that I know of are "A level rider" that were in D due to a lack of seeding.
