  1. Specialized S-Works Stumpjumper HT 29er with XTR and carbon wheels (kitted with 2 x bottle cages and Garmin) - 9.2kg. CAN SOME ONE confirm that this bike is so light? Is this how it come from shop or is it a mod. Thanks
  2. I must add there we a lot of people running for cover, it's not fun standing in the opean fields drench with not a tree in site and lightning all around. I am sure racers were running for cover I saw it with my eyes. Hopefully next year is arm and sunny.
  3. I am rather shocked the race took place . I was at the venue and noted bolts of lightning on either side with a dark black sky growing. I will ride day or night rain or shine and snow!! But lightnings a no no. Could the race not been put off - there were a handful !!!!!! of riders. What about a week later or Monday. I know this is for a very good cause, thats why my team of three entered, but with that aside there comes a time to draw the line. Imagine some one got taken out by a bolt of lightning - then next your we would be riding in his or hers memorie !
  4. Test ride the bikes before you buy. I can tell you this is the biggest tip on the hub!

    SABS

SABS has become nothing but a money spinner for the government to squeeze more from the consumers. The have a vast array of fees on all goods theses day where or not it's approved by them. The ability of the Sabs to do a credible checks is long gone, the capable qualified staff are over burdened. Most of the staff are incapacitated and simply lazy paper shufflers. Use your own discretion when buying something. Look for marks like UL, GS, CB, INTERTEK, ASA best test from the USA and followed by Eu and finally OZ. A TWO YEAR guarantee or more is a safer bet.
  6. Dear Karla. Who was the zombie that proofed and check the course? Name and shame!! The one wooden bridge over the tree stump was to steep for 1500 riders to fly over , what a bottle neck there was- if you had seen the mess and the long queues you would be shocked. The next bridge over the little spring was made of plastic, sticky tape and two logs. I can't even tell you what I think, as you a lady. But be assured as a engineer even my kid of 9 could build a better bridge. If we all had to walk through the river fine, but don't have a bridge that last for 20 riders and then crumbles!! Lastly I hope some one is able to use just a little bit of gray matter and build bridges wide enough and STONG ENOUGH so all can fly over and not get held up for 16 minuets or more! My one buddy was held up by 27 minuets. You are supposed to be event mangers, well do a proper job. Don't just take our money and rip us off. Don't mess up Silver Star trail like last week or any future races, it's ruins it for all and will not get unnoticed. Please see Thursday bridges for the night race are intact
  7. Avoid the Evos at all cost. Had two of them blow on the rim. The snake skin are fine. But I think there is a manfacturing issue with the Evos or just use them on Jeep tracks.
  8. Hi Vince Thank you for the kind offer. I must tell you my tumm is stong. Amongst my buds This was noramal, as they to all had smilier issues. I would like to buy the stuff, and report back to you privately. I believe you must have a good product as you happy to put it forward. Where do I get it? The free sample may be from USN, they could try and take me out - as I had issues with product. lol
  9. Pure Nutrition is made locally by Juscrolex Nutrition based in Raedene. I have had enough of local stuff and moving on to trying USA Stuff. I never had such a stomach flush after using the USN Epic pro. I can only assume the pros use it have such bad cramps- that ride like mad to finish and so they can get to the loo! FAST!
  10. Thanks every one. My bottles are very clean. I will try GI 32 , what is Enduren? I talked to some of our riding group this morning, and it was funny just how many of us had this issue. Nearly all had the same issue, non had properly resolved this and it's does seem, some are affected more so by specific brands. I not mentioning brands as its a small group (12 )and could be unfair. What I am sure is there is a issue with most of the local brands, I was on a USA MTB hub and this was not the case. They said the brands would out of bussines before they start, if it was causing the runs. Could our folk making this mutti lack some scientific or real medical understanding. I beginning to suspect the brands that spend the most on adverts and marketing , promis most and are deliver less than what is required!! I am looking at what's in the USA. Not always a fan of other product, but there seems to be a common problems hear in SA. Who else's has the runs... Thanks
  11. Does any one know why Evox and USN Epic pro and Usn creatine creates havoc with my stomach. I am not the only one, some of my ride buddies take probiotics to stop this. One chap had to pull out of race due to this mutti. These powders cost a fortune and promis the world, but energygade works fine.. Are we getting sold marketing hype,, Whats going on?
  12. Sorry to hear this. Actually very sad. If there is any concession roads dep or road accident fund with good lawyer can sue these departments. It will not bring the departed, but might secure the finances for the fam.
  13. I also had the Racing Ralph's Evo had two side walls on two tires, one cost me a race. I I cHanged to snake skin seems better. I think some Evo have a real side wall issues.
  14. It be great to do a comparison with both devices used at one time and with a few riders of varying fitness levels. This would give a clear picture and better understanding.
