  1. I suppose it also depends on which team you support - if your side is taking a serious beating you may want to leave early anyway and will then make the last train.
  2. I don`t think the buses run that late at evening anyway and the last train is at 20:30.
  3. Oom are you going for the big game - Bulls - Sharks?
  4. You talking about cycling from the station or not taking the train and cycling there - the reason is you can`t take a bicycle on the train. Just check on the Gautrain site as to which bus to take to Loftus.
  5. You can`t go wrong with that XO setup. I had 3 x 9 XT and moved to 2 x 10 X0 - 28/36 on my 29er and loving it.
  6. Interesting battle unfolding for the green jersey. Points Classification: 1 Peter Sagan (Svk) Cannondale Pro Cycling 111 pts 2 Mark Cavendish (GBr) Omega Pharma-Quick Step 76 3 Alexander Kristoff (Nor) Katusha 76 4 André Greipel (Ger) Lotto Belisol 65 5 Edvald Boasson Hagen (Nor) Sky Procycling 58 6 Marcel Kittel (Ger) Team Argos-Shimano 57
  7. Cool action shot - who was the Cofidis rider going down there on the left?
  8. RadioShack-Leopard veteran Jens Voigt, who was time-cut in 2005 after falling ill, said on Wednesday morning that a poll of riders in the race would have come back with the decision to let King ride. “The guy crashed, he’s just suffering like hell to stay in the race, and I think you should just choose humility with the rules and say, ‘Hey, look, let’s make an exception,’” said Voigt. “If the riders could have chosen, to put him in or out, I’m sure we would have 100-percent agreement to just come on, let him race. He just wants to reach Paris. It’s his first Tour. He just wants to reach Paris and have the Tour de France on his paper. “I’ve been in a situation like that. In [2005], I was 42 seconds [outside the time cut]. It was a 180km stage over the Galibier and I did probably 120km by myself. I was 42 seconds out, and I went home. It’s heartbreaking.”
  9. Lance has got a great deal to answer for by cocking it up for all his fellow countrymen. Looking at the damage done there to Ted Kings chassis its a wonder he actually came so close (7 seconds) to staying in the race. Peter Sagan`s support rider Ted King eliminated from the Tour after missing the cut off by 7 seconds due to injuries suffered during the big day one crash that also left Sagan injured. Together with the loss of King and injuries to several other of the Cannondale Proffesional Cycling team members together with his own injuries Sagan has a monumental battle ahead of him to try retain the Green Jersey lead. King suffered a dislocated and seperated shoulder.
  10. Graving - thought that was a craving for Gravy - well I suppose chocolates are brown aha - see you corrected your thread title. Try limit yourself to a couple of squares of Dark chocolate a night - then you satisfy your craving and there are health benefits to Dark chocolate.
  11. Ted King was indeed not allowed to start today, so we have 185 riders now. There was a movement on Twitter to allow him to continue, but the race jury refused to change its decision. No Countrymen of that thieving Armstrong allowed, I spit on you American wannabe cyclists. Vive le tour
  12. 11:57:15 CEST http://cdn.media.cyclingnews.com/2011/05/06/1/pmu_32.png In the battle for the green jersey Peter Sagan and his tidy new facial hair have a lead over Marcel Kittel and Alex Kristoff. 1 Peter Sagan (Svk) Cannondale Pro Cycling 74 pts 2 Marcel Kittel (Ger) Team Argos-Shimano 57 3 Alexander Kristoff (Nor) Katusha 48 4 Michal Kwiatkowski (Pol) Omega Pharma-Quick Step 41 5 Lars Boom (Ned) Belkin Pro Cycling Team 40 6 Danny van Poppel (Ned) Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team 39 7 Jose Joaquin Rojas Gil (Spa) Movistar Team 36 Cavendish has just 25 points and if he's fighting fit today he'll be looking to jump up the standings and narrow the Cannondale leader's advantage.
  13. Ted King, who missed the time cut by 7 seconds yesterday, is at the start this morning but it doesn't look as though he's been given a last minute reprieve. The start is roughly 15 minutes away with riders starting to make their to the sign in and the start line.
  14. Riding near 4 - Ways early one Sunday morning I heard a car coming up behind me and as it overtook I saw it was a luxury SUV with 4 very smartly dressed occupants - must have been returning from a function held that night. Anyway one of the woman wound down the passenger window and leaned out still in her evening dress. For one split moment I thought she was going to say hello or something but she threw a full glass bottle of beer at me. I dropped my head and it hit me on top of my helmet, leaving just a dent and me covered in beer. They all screamed with laughter and raced off. Shows that it takes all sorts !!
  15. Yip, an American on an American team.
  16. Hopefully sanity will prevail and they will be a little more flexible. I wonder if he had been a Frenchman (Voeckler for example) if the same would have applied. The fact that he is American - wonder if the Lance saga still hurts them.
  17. Oh Flip - another bus. Are they testing these buses, especially the one that finished 1st on the first stage. It seems like they must be on something.
  18. Still going to be an interesting contest I think. Cav has been ill and recovering. Sagan is sore and recovering from the crash. The next three sprint stages are going to give a good indication on what is going to happen. Go the Tourminator. Long live the Hulk !
  19. That would be cool to see, even if for a couple of days - imagine a Saffer in Yellow - Phil will give it plenty of mileage.
  20. I am not happy about this - apparently neither are the riders.

Welcome to the Hub Peach !!. Always room for another Sram Supporter !!
  22. Mr Sagan is going to miss him, plus he himself is not feeling 100%.
  23. Damn, Damn, Damn: According to his Cannondale team, American Ted King has been time cut from his Tour de France debut. King struggled in Tuesday’s stage 4 team time trial in Nice, three days after separating his left shoulder in a crash on the opening day of the race. He fell behind his teammates during the 25-kilometer ride through Nice and although his estimated finishing time was within the 25 percent standard, Cannondale has confirmed he was time cut from the race by organizer ASO and will not continue.
  24. Cannondale is now officially Peter Sagan’s team, and Ivan Basso, leader since 2008, is just renting space. No Giro for Basso and now no Tour. The team doesn’t have a real GC contender now that Nibali is gone. Its major projects are Sagan and Moreno Moser, both of whom are the centers of the team’s Tour squad. It’s a monumental shift for a team that just a year ago was targeting overall wins with Nibali and is now hunting stages.
  25. No problem - I would just like to know which team you support?
