Replaced my trusty GT Karakoram frame (L) with a brand new Momsen Twen-9AL frame (XL). I am 6'4". Feeling quite a bit more comfy on the Momsen.

BSG, the Rapide wheels have been brilliant. No complaints whatsoever. I upgraded from AlexRims DM21 with Shimano M475 hubs to the Rapidé TR29 TrailRacer wheels (Rapidé R25 rims - 25mm internal / 30mm external) on Rapidé Ultralight PRO hubs (these come complete with quick release and thru-axel adapters). I've done approximately 1200 kilometers so far, and all I can say is that I am extremely pleased. I'm a heavy chap (108kg before breakfast), and so far this wheel set has been rock solid. Excellent value for money.

Replaced my trusty Giro MX Semi recently. New helmet arrived today. Troy Lee Designs A1. What an amazing piece of kit. The fit is just superb.

Yessah.... which is why I am getting this:

During my ride on Saturday I met up with some mates on the trail. We found a spot to have a quick bite and rest a bit. As I was putting my helmet back on, I heard a strange crackling noise. I was on my bike at this stage, and for a moment I thought my frame was disintegrating (yes, you may laff now). Then I realized that the noise was coming from my helmet. I quickly removed it and we watched as the thing slowly de-laminated (see the gray areas in the picture - this is where the "lid" detached/de-laminated). This is a 2004 model Giro Semi MX which I bought in 2005. I guess it is time for a new lid

This weekend the bolt and clamp on my old seat post stripped. A nice 18km trap back home, standing all the way. I got this today from Wayne at Rapide - the Control Tower. Excellent quality and great service.

Spent the weekend on the trails at Tranquilitas. Great fun as always.

I've done approx. 700 km on a set of On-One Smorgasbord Trail Extremes. Very happy indeed. These things are tough as nails and grip real well. They are also wearing really well. Thanks (again) Ryan. Next round will be on the Chunky Monkey/Smorgasbord combo.
