  1. If you are doing rides of less than an 2hrs water is adequate as your body has sufficient glycogen stores to sustain energy levels for that duration. If you are riding longer than that you need to consume carbs / electrolytes (found in all leading energy drinks).. If you riding really long you need to include protein as well..
  2. get a fizik arione / gobi

  5. Is it just me or are the pics rather expensive? R60 for a 18 x 13 pic plus R29 postage - R89 is a lot for one photo. I dont remember actionphoto being this expensive???

  7. I have to agree with you SeeBee - i used to cramp a bit, especially during longer races where the muscles are not used to the continous expansions / contractions but since i have increased mileage / training i dont suffer from cramping anymore.. I have found that regular stretching also helps to prevent cramping.. One question: if you cramp during a race, what is the best thing to do??? A physio told me that the best remedy is to ice the affected area, but this is not feasible during a race..
  8. 2nd one for me! Looking forward to it...
  9. I only did the road race and really enjoyed it - thought the organization etc was good - except for the finish area which was a bit dangerous.. Wind was quite tough going out on the N1 but not unbearable, definitely not as bad as CT winds..
  10. i agree the bib shorts are definitely more comfortable than normal cycling shorts and the extra money spent is well worth it.. ito sizes, i wear a size 30 pants usually and have found small to be the right size for most brands - it will probably take a bit getting used to them but you dont want them to be too tight so i wouldnt go for a smaller size in your case.. Ito brands, first ascent, capestorm and anatomic make good quality entry level bib shorts (+-R700) - i personally find the first ascent bibs to be the most comfortable of the three, especially on long rides..
