3rd place is in the balance. Just depends on whose legs fall off last.

Pyga Ngwenya. GU will have to trap daai fiets if he wants 3rd or 2nd. Making up 12kms in 60, is a big ask on a good day. After 900+ it's something else I'm sure. Gladiators all.

Congrats to THE MAN! Truly epic riding. As for the rest, any chance GU will catch the gents ahead? On replay, once he got going, he made up a bit of ground. Just might not have enough time/km's to do it...
  4. Well spotted. Looks like a new bike. No pedals. Reckon a warm reception is called for....

Reckon that GU "only" has 2x 94.7 to get to the finish.... All that SS riding has paid off. Reckon ALL these riders are in a different league. Slayers of Demons i tell you... it's so darn easy to quit when you are in the hurt chamber. RESPECT!
  6. Thanks, but it would have to be something more advanced than that.
  7. Have to agree Tumbleweed. In this day and age, where the most innocuous shite is photographed from 17 angles, and the hub can't get to see 1 pic.... Maybe Miway can post the photo of the damage. The OP definitely ain't going to.
  8. It's not exactly a Specialized.... Calm down folks, only taking the p!ss... I applaud Richard. I'll confess that I am a half empty kind of guy. Life has made me so, as I wasn't always like this. A recent example: My gardener approached me with a very tired looking bike he had recently purchased. He wouldn't tell me how much he had spent, but he asked me to have a look at the drive train... Since i am a tinkerer, i thought i would give it a go... So happens that the chain had done seventy three thousand, fifty three & four hundred kilometers. The more i touched the damn thing, the longer the list of spares became. I took it to the Sheriff and we settled on an entire drive train, incl crank & shifters. Lesson learnt. 2 weeks later, i glimpse over at the bike on my way to work, and its back to its original state, if not worse. When i asked ol' James what happened, he merely mentioned that "it didn't suit me".... Guess who isn't getting a xmas bonus, simply because "it doesn't suit me".... Hope the attendant cherishes the bike Richard has given him, otherwise the little water i hold, might evaporate.
  9. Have this issue in my industry.... my retailers complain that sales are slow, but when i walk into their stores, i simply ask them what do they expect? The public to buy from them, given that all they have is the stuff they had a year or 2 ago.... It's a slow death. The "place your order & i will get it for you" at the "regular mark-up" won't work in the cycle industry. I can get the item from half a dozen online stores, for less, faster... I love supporting local, but if you aren't carrying the stock, you had better make it worth my while... As an aside, if i were a cycle retailer & i was ordering on demand as opposed to carrying stock, I would work on CRC pricing + 15% + Vat. Reckon that would keep imports to a minimum, and i would grow market share, all for the price of a call or email... Nough said...
  10. Hi Peach' Sure it is somewhere in the 18 pages, but what can i expect to be covered in the intermediate? Would be keen to join on the 12th. Thanks
  11. Who is this Super J oke? Looks like he makes k@k everywhere he goes.... Close the thread admin.... nothing to see here...
  12. I feel your pain Drago. I'm 1.85m & 90kg. Give or take a kilo either way. Ideal fitting weight would be the low 80's (IMO). I managed to get to 84 for S2C in 2014, only to ride sick for 3 days. Actually was soul destroying, as i lost all that weight for nought, even though i enjoyed the training. I enjoy the pain on the climbs, as I will turn myself inside out to keep up with the featherweights, but it ain't easy. Just been overseas for 2 weeks, and that never helps the diet. (I did enjoy seeing all the commuters in London, & the rights they enjoy) Just this morning, I have committed to riding my bike every day, & everywhere in December, when on leave, for 3 weeks. Hope my car battery will die over the period.... Unfortunately, I also work long hours, so used to ride with a bunch of guys at night midweek, twice a week, but that has fallen away, due to work pressures on their side, so reckon I will have to commit to doing it on my own for now. Having said that, its just about being on the bike & the simple pleasures.
  13. If you are in the market for a top bike, this is as sweet as it gets. Normally you drop the cash, and the mechanic wheels it out the shop for you. Recon that's the biggest carrot you will get for spending R200k, ever! Last time i bought a much higher ticket item, i got a cap.... #Pissed!
  14. I did spot Nico Pfitzen.... doing a skills clinic a few weeks back, at Riversands Market. Don't know if it was a corporate gig or not, but the riders were of different skill levels. Looked informative.
  15. That's a steal! Just checked my F50 @ work. Its done 3880 cups, and its only been in to Jura twice. Once, it was operator induced.... I also make Red Cappucino's through it, which Jura don't recommend, but one a day doesn't seem to bother it at all. Great machine.
  16. Rip Fellow Cyclist. It is a little concerning, seeing the condition that some people are in, yet they tackle what is a tough challenge. I was standing at the top of the first drag (before turning right onto Summit), cheering people on, for about 20 minutes. In that gap, I saw 4 really really overweight people. I applaud their courage & determination, but it also concerns me that they are taking on a challenge that is a bit above their physical capabilities. I also saw 3 people walking up that drag. They might finish, but it will come at a cost.
  17. sweeeeets..... sweeeets.... Hate to say this, on a public forum....... but those Spez okes are crafty.... Between frame compartments, swat equipment, and swat shorts; everything but the sink is fair game.... I'll post pics tomorrow, of my minimalist setup, partydave. I hate saddlebags, only because they fall off without warning... I can live with the noob tag, just cant live without my tools... Problem with being organized, is that all the b@stards I ride with, have cottoned on, so they all travel lite. Een dag...
  18. Imagine what he could have achieved, if the Pyga was ready for this race....
  19. Best part of that vid, was the oke on his SS, keeping up with the fast boys...
  20. Don't know what access control is like, but you guys need to learn from us criminals up in Gauteng, and not pay your "etolls", if you feel there is little or no benefit for what you paying for.... Ride for free, & hit them where it hurts. Organise a Free Ride on a weekend, or every weekend. Worked well for the students. Getting real tired of paying & getting nothing in return... Ride safe.
  21. Howzit Hubbers Looking for a rigid fork, for my Cotic Simple. Any suggestions? I like the carbon look, even though its a green steel/chromo bike. Also not looking to break the bank, as it is a trial. Will be removing the Sid to try out a full rigid... Thanks in advance.
  22. I rode a mates Anthem yesterday.... lets just say we both felt the difference. Believe there was a visit to a concept store today, due to the Chalk & Chipotle difference. Pity I can't afford the new Camber.... or any other Spez right now.
