  1. Sounds like a Yeti sans vowels.... Definitely a Stumpie wannabe. Hope thet are using a different pricing model though....
  2. I'm not great with keeping track of dates, but reckon this Sector has been splashing around my drawer, for at least 2 decades. Other than the occasional battery, it hasn't missed a beat. Never took off locally, but it's a tough customer.
  3. I'm with you. Looks very nice, but will it improve my ride experience? For that kind of cash, you would hope to, but the cranks all go round, whether they are SS, 1x10 or 2x10. Would rather spend it on a tangible benefit, like wheels or suspension.
  4. I'll raise you another, from Basel World. Sadly, some of us earn good ol' SA Rands!
  5. Smaak That! Getting to like the nylon strap look. If nothing else, they make for a low profile, so comfortable whilst typing. Practical
  6. Hi Ramrod You have probably just completed the hardest journey of your life. It ain't easy I am sure, but there is nothing left here for you... My Nephew left 35 days ago to study in Europe. I'll give you the advise I gave him - don't sit still. Join clubs & groups, with common interests. Or even something out of your circle. Just don't sit & over analyse everything you have vs what you had... New beginnings! Enjoy the adventure!
  7. Or someone stepped away.... I thought so, as all the small lettering & the chain is slightly out of focus, so def some movement. Would prefer the stick, to soft focus, but that's just me... I do like that frame. Is it locally designed & manufactured, or Taiwanese & locally designed?
  8. Amazing looking bike. Pity the Rand is in the neighbourhood that its in.... What concerns me isn't the width of the tires, its the fact that they are Renegades. I ride the 2.3 up in Gauteng, on our gravel highways, and although I really like them, grip isn't on of there top 5 attributes. Don't know how he does it, but he has been riding them, since the Burry days. Respect, to a great cycling ambassador.
  9. Oke must be completely bonkers! What is this oke thinking?
  10. XT10.... Cyclist to the core i see... Yip, great little camera. Only thing i battled with was the manual focus, but by the 20th shot you start getting the hang of it.
  11. Went walkabout last night with the Fuji X10. Sadly no tripod, so had to work on any flat surface i could find, but always impressed with this tiny camera.
  12. Love that spot, as well as the pier further down. On my last trip, i packed all my photographic gear into the car, so as to capture something similar; only to find when I got to Umhlanga that my intrepid daughter thought a tripod wasn't as necessary as her boogie board.... That kid spent a lot of time on the boogie board, that's for sure... Next time.
  13. Hi Luke, Bought one new from Kameraz last year, for R3000.00, give or take. Think you will struggle to get one second hand, that hasn't been beat up; as the trade-in prices are so low, guys tend to hold onto them. Cracker lens by the way. Like the low weight, as well as the aperture. Its always attached to my D4, and is my go-to travel lens.
  14. Not a great photo, but rather a photo of a great moment. Last night ride of 2015, with some legendary okes!
  15. Been off the bikes for a year or three, but it's time to get back into it... Looking forward to some adventure travels.
  16. Sincerely doubt it.... But since its Xmas and all, send some fresh beans over.
  17. Amazing how tastes vary... I quite enjoy the Woolies beans. Prefer the taste to that of Illy , Lavazza , Mokador. I haven't tried Truth yet.
  18. Shot Monark.
  19. Which one SimpleD? Never owned anything other than rigid or 100mm, so out of my depth here.
  20. I used to live in Lonehill, and would make use of the grounds, until a warden approached me & told me it wasn't a good idea, in that a prisoner working in the fields could attack a cyclist, get into their gear & attempt a getaway. Sounded plausible. Back then, i was surprised the place had any prisoners, as security seemed to be very laid back, unless there was a sniper on one of the koppies...
  21. The Cotic's latest upgrade. SLR wheels. The AC were too flexi, to the point of rubbing the frame, when pushed hard. The Mavics have transformed this bike. Just need the knee to recover to the point that I can go back to 1x1.... Anybody running a 120mm fork on the Simple/Solaris?
  22. Sometimes the Force is not strong. Thanks
  23. Thanks, but it would have to be something more advanced than that.
  24. Hi Peach' Sure it is somewhere in the 18 pages, but what can i expect to be covered in the intermediate? Would be keen to join on the 12th. Thanks
  25. I did spot Nico Pfitzen.... doing a skills clinic a few weeks back, at Riversands Market. Don't know if it was a corporate gig or not, but the riders were of different skill levels. Looked informative.
