  1. Hmmm...when you put it that way it makes one think...
  2. Well said! It isn't a matter of if was road or MTB, the fact is that he is a professional athlete doping...disgusting!
  3. Wow! If the pro's are talking like that about him then i don't know...such a poephol!
  4. After you have told him to wear bibs, let him ride his first 3-4hr race in blazing heat with his top lifting a little (unless he wears a baggy flappy shirt). That small piece of exposed skin between your shorts and shirt gets burnt to a crisp and he will beg for bibs.
  5. It worked for referee Bryce Lawrence...can't see why it won't work for Patty. Def think he should push forward with setting up a petition page!
  6. Very sad day indeed! Le Tour is just not going to look the same without the orange and blue. If the USADA's mission was to shut down professional cycling in their witch hunt then they may actually succeed
  7. Awesome news for him! MTN will lose out, but he will develop into a much greater rider because of it.
  8. I like this idea!!! With some more work done, which I am sure they will, this could develop into something great. Have to wait and see i guess.
  9. I decided against these purely based on reputation and got a better known brand instead. Not bad mouthing them at all...just my personal decision
  10. My point was referring people being taking more risks with a helmet than without. Unless she was wearing a ice hockey helmet with a grid not much would have helped I know. Sometimes hurting is the best way to learn i guess.
  11. Damn, now that would give you oober loser complex!!!
  12. Mine snuck out while we were busy and rode her bike in the complex (without her helmet) and crashed face first into a wall breaking her jaw in 3 places...she hasn't been this brave since wearing her helmet
  13. My g-friend is a nurse and has dealt with spinal fusions from MTB'ers every now and then. Most of them as a result from hard tails (stubbornly I also ride one), so don't underestimate the damage it can do to your body and how long it can take to fix itself.
  14. My daughter never gets on her bike without her helmet and that will never change. Firstly I always wear mine so she can see and learn and second of all providing them with some perspective always helps. She loves riding and always used to kick up a fuss about wearing a helmet until I came up with a practical solution...I told her to get on her knees and gently bump her head on the road she rides on (without her helmet). She didn't like that very much so i told her to do the same with the helmet and she was surprised that she couldn't feel anything and when I told her she must imagine bumping her head like that (without the helmet) but at the speed she rides her face just dropped and...magic, she refuses to ride without one. I do agree it is a tough one though and what works for one is not going to work for another. i just feel it is a must, considering the cracked helmets I've seen before and imaging what would have become of that person if they were not wearing a helmet...
  15. Why have all traces of them disappeared? Their website has been blocked and Facebook gone...I would love to do this next year with that pricing, but if all traces of them are gone that may not be possible...anyone know?
  16. Damn that has got to hurt! This is when you really hope you don't go down in the next couple of stages!
  17. Sorry to hear man and so glad you and the family are okay. It is a pain, but the material things can be replaced and life can't so glad you were all unharmed!
  18. I think that would be the best thing that happened to him and give us all a little sense of justice.
  19. Sure thing Capcha! I was thinking down the same lines as you with the xmas thing Will post my opinion early next week.
  20. I'm going to have a look at them sometime this week (or next) as I am pretty interested myself. Will share my thoughts when I've had a look, but would also love to know if someone already has them/has used them.
  21. You do have a point and I do understand. My opinion is admittedly a blurred one as I see how many millions of peoples lives he has changed and how many people have renewed hope because of his accomplishments. The latest is him breaking his ban to raise money and awareness for cancer getting 300 people to compete in a triathlon and the organisers saying screw you to the USADA (this is the power this man has!)...something I don't see previously convicted dopers or non-dopers doing. This is why I have the restpect for him I do because be it good or bad he has touched and influenced more people in this 1 race than any of us would in a life time, never mind throughout his life journey. Here's the article http://www.bicycling.co.za/news-people/lance-armstrong-competes-in-triathlon/
  22. This is why I am saying that there is something dodgy as the USADA should have cleared their own name at the same time and provide the UCI with the evidence when requested (not more than 1 month late). If someone denies doing something and you have more than enough to prove them wrong, would you not want to increase your own credibility and show your cards? I'm not sure how they are going to do it, but all the cycling bodies around the world really need to get a grip on doping in the sport!
  23. How? Maybe busted but def not prosecuted...
  24. Made my morning!
