  1. One is almost more straight than the other.
  2. The golden rule worked in terms of marking today. If you don't see any go straight.
  3. I have always liked this ride, but today I was in awe. The sheer effort that must have went into building that single track next to the dam is highly appreciated. For me this was a very humbling ride, for one I had an off day with no power, but mostly because of the scenery. Riding it on a day like today can give you tears of joy. Only thing I would have changed was to let the long route go down the old trail on the Franschoek side of the dam like we always did, but still I am very happy with how it was.
  4. You're welcome. I've done a few of these starting in 2012 and I really am very stoked about this one. Let's hope I don't break my bike this year or crack the frame.
  5. Racetec. PPA event.
  6. Isn't tandem like bringing two horse power into a one horse power race?
  7. None, all of it is perfectly ridable and 1300m climbing over 55km is easy. I'd go so far as to say if you don't ride it you might as well sell your bicycle.
  8. Tour de PPA? More like Tour de Wind. I did that once in 2013 - never again.
  9. Nope, neither, just a huge fan of this ride - and many others.
  10. I made a rough XML of what the route appears to be like : https://files.fm/u/35xfhhbm
  11. I'm glad they are also taking MTB rides like K2C for seeding. This year I'll probably only ride my road bike 3 times. CTCT, 1tonner, SCT - not enough for a good seeding.
  12. New route is going to be spectacular. Looking forward to this, my first event for 2017.

  14. My index is 17.17 based on my K2C time of 4:05. If this is an early enough start I'll consider a double Argus again this year.
  15. Gonna be a tough 37 km. Pity we are missing out on Rheebokskloof though.
  16. I never go towards the Kayamandi side from the Welgevonden traffic light. Either I go straight ahead like on Die Burger MTB and then down Devon Valley side, or I head towards the N1.
  17. Something like this
  18. I avoid the R304 any further than the Welgevonden traffic light. On the R44 I always use the shoulder of the inbound road no matter if I'm coming or going.
  19. Chaoyang. Done about 4000km on my first set and they are brilliant.
  20. Yeah, saw the smoke up there when I rode home from the MSTC. Looks like it's under control now?
  21. So much fun! Won a lovely R500 Canal Walk voucher in the fancy dress competition. New route was easy, however I do love going up the trails above Niel Joubert. Always a lovely ride to do.
