  3. Doing this for the first time, sounds like fun.
  4. To do a double lap or not to do a double lap - that is the question...
  5. Entered and stoked!
  6. Not as ridiculous as the neon green tekkies I wear, I can assure you of that. #FlatPedals
  7. Sorry, fashion police got to me first.
  8. Ah, female you say? Then tighter fitting is better.
  9. I have two pairs, Fox Ranger with the separate inner and Capestorm with built-in inner. Rode the One Tonner with the more baggy Capestorm on my road bike and after that I threw out my last set of roadie pants. Let's start making cycling cool again - bring in the baggies! Yes, I'm circumcised - but I don't need bicycle pants to advertise it.
  10. This one time I shaved my balls, you know, you gotta be ballsy while the others are being cocky. Gotta zig while the rest is zagging.
  11. No man, don't shave your legs! Only ladies do that.
  12. Speaking of roadies, why is it that I still see so many mountain bikers in skin tight roadie pants and not the more descent and self respecting MTB shorts?
  13. Where can the MTB results be accessed?
  14. Ja well no fine. Well kept secret my ... .... posterior ?
  15. I'm gonna give this 8/10. I absolutely loved the route and the wind helped a lot to set some new PRs. Thanks to all the friendly faces at the venue and water points, which were very well stocked. For all those that quibbled about the price, this was actually worth double what you paid for IMHO. The only reason this is not 10/10 is because of the utterly rubbish info on the webiste. Honestly a tiny little JPEG is useless, even more so when coupled with wrong info. Start time 5:45am? 65KM? 1700m climbing? More like 6:00am, 72KM and 2000m climbing. Not sure how I'm going to manage the Dirtopia 10K Halloween trail run at Muratie on these legs tonight... From now on I am going to insist on GPX route files for event.
  16. DC? Last time I checked a bicycle had one handlebar, one one for each member of a team.
  17. Seems to have a few changes, we do not take that steep track up the side of the quarry, instead we are gradually climbing up through the quarry. This year : Last Year :
  18. I can ride Bottelary anytime I want to seeing as I have a year permit - yet I paid R380 to ride it as part of the STBB MTB this past Saturday. Why? Because that money goes to CANSA in aid of breast cancer. We need to stop spending so selfishly and start thinking about where our money goes after we spent it.
  19. How much did you pay for your last bike service? How much does a tank of fuel cost? How much of that goes to charity? Cycle events are never overpriced and always for a good cause. I get so miffed when folks driving half a mil worth of SUV with a fancy carbon bike on the back complains about a R350 entry fee.
  20. Nice and early just like last year. 6AM
  21. Here are two options, depending an how fast you are...
  22. STBB was my first introduction to Bottelary Hills many years ago. Still love doing it and really excited about the floating bridge they have at the end :
  23. Would have offered to help but our bakkie is full already, me, my dad and one of his buddies.
  24. When will 2017 year permits go on sale?
  25. Even without road works this is dangerous. I remember two years back when it went through Darling. H bunch caught up with G and we filled the entire R27. Things got more sketchy on the road to Darling.
