  1. From S/Wes I would guess OverGaauw is a good starting point?
  2. This really is the pinnacle of single day mountain biking. Trust me. You won't we disappointed, the 2017 route is new and a challenge on an old favourite.
  3. Read this https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?/topic/157699-Trans-Karoo-MTB-RACE&do=findComment&comment=2823036 Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
  4. Excellent ride, thanks for the quick chat at the end Naas. You guys know how to put together a proper MTB event.
  5. I would be very surprised if they take the parts I mentioned out of the route. Might have a few extra bridges and minor tweaks, then again I only a few sections of the 50km.
  6. The route should be the same as last year, some lovely single track next to the Eerste River and climbing up the hill across from Spier.
  7. Epic! In for my 7th one, 4th time on the 75K
  8. I'm in for my 6th one.
  9. Ah yes, the might Fish Beagle ! http://www.bunguin.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/beagle.jpg
  10. can't wait to ride it !
  11. Blikemmer! That will be awesome, is it going right round the koppie?
  12. Very keen to know when this will open and where it will go to : At the top of the Blue route where the 4x4 trail crosses it.
  13. Drugs are fun, in moderation. As all things in life.
  14. Fair enough. But one should never compare yourself to those with less than you and think of how fortunate you are. There are people with far more than you and it is so easy for fall into the trap of giving pity instead of encouragement to those with less. Remember, there are people that went to private schools, who did not have to buy their first car, who did not have to study on a loan.
  15. Continuing off topic : Interesting observation you made. I'm a firm believer in survival of the fittest. The weak will fall for substances and other "quick escapes" like drugs to get away from their environment. The strong knows that this is a no-no and will work to leave behind their environment for good. Personally I have a few weaknesses but I try to work at it and not to give into vices. There are people far more accomplished and wealthy than me and I refuse to just sit back and bemoan my existence, instead I work to get as close to my dreams as possible.
  16. There are plenty of open weekends in the coming months. Keep it on a Saturday but spread it over all 52 we have in a year. Bone Crusher was much harder than last year, but worth it. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
  17. First time 7 years when I am not doing Hex Rivier. I wish organisers would sync their calendars and avoid this pesky multi event days.
  18. Yoh! The long route is going to be a lot tougher than last year.
  19. Is the long route staying the same as last year?
  20. Rode this for free (complementary entry with Cederberg 100 miler) and it was very good. Thanks Pieter and the team for organsing this. Way better than 6 years ago when Nissan was still part of it.
  21. Hi Catty, You are going to love this ride, what makes it so special for me is how small it makes me feel when I am out there with these wide open spaces and big mountains around me. About the single track, no this is strictly on the public dirt roads so there is nothing technical - all endurance. It is pretty much the same as the last part of the 2013 TransKaroo downride.
  22. My wife and kid are also stoked for this one. It's our 3rd time and we booked ourselves two nights at Kaleo and a very nice spot in the same street as the start. Will be thinking back to the last TransKaroo on this ride. Pieter sure knows how to make a memorable endurance ride.
  23. I love this event! Definitely will be there.
  24. Just over 2 weeks to go until the 3rd Cederberg 100 miler. Who's in? Any first timers?
  25. It is just good manners to ask if you hear someone behind you if they would like to pass and then help them to do so when it is safe for both of you. I start in A and I know there are faster riders in groups behind me. When I hear someone behind me I always ask if they would like to pass. When I catch up to slower riders they often ask me if I would like to pass and my answer is always "yes, when it is safe for you to make way".
