Only two things that can improve: You do not ask a fee for parking - that should be included in the entry fee. Allow for on-day registration - the past 3 years I did not register, just started

It was excellent - as always. For added drama I arrived 50 minutes early and forgot my rear thru-axle at home. Another 64km and one massive poop later I started at 6:10. Condolences to those who entered the road or gravel race. Maybe next year you'll select the correct option.

My first time, loved it! I wanted to look extra poor, so I rode my cheap bike amongst all the fancy gravel bikes and dual-sus MTBs. I also made sure to forget my water bottles in the fridge at home, so I had a 1.5L tucked into the back pocket of my cycle shirt. I think I saw Pieter Van Wyk in a bakkie, like I always seem to do on gravel races (Cederberg, Transkaroo). This event gets a 5-star rating from me.

Could that thorn have caused the layers inside to separate and thus the buldge? Rode it like that for 10km.

Absolutely perfect, I decided to take the Avalanche (local is lekker) and it was such a lovely time out there.
