  1. Has anyone ridden in that area after the rain? Have fitted some tyres with very little clearance....and dont really want to swop them out if its going to be dry......
  2. Great info. Thanks!
  3. Not really..i want to know if anyone has ridden in that area recently to help me decide what tyres to use..
  4. Anyone knows the recent condition of the roads in that area? Time to start thinking about tyre choice…🫣
  5. I am considering a new gravel bike fitted with ZIPP 303 FC (hookless 25mm internal width) wheelset. I am currently riding a gravel bike with DT Swiss GRC 1400 wheel with which I am really happy and had no issues with in two years. I have seen many issues with tyres coming off rims when the ZIPPs are used for road at presumably the 5 bar pressure limit with 28 or 30mm tyres. Has anyone experienced issues with the ZIPP 303 FC wheels with tyres coming off and how do you find the wheels in general for road and gravel use? I am planning on using the ZIPP wheels with 32/34mm road tires (GP 5000 most likely) and 38/45 gravel tyres (Gravel Kings/Schwalbe most likely). Has anyone tried these combos on the ZIPP and did you have any issues? Thanks!
  6. Have this question again. Does POC offer a discount on crashed helmets? Any update in their policy?
  7. Best selling e-mountain bikes in SA is 29/27.5…so no..it didn’t fail to take off..
  8. Any suggestions?
  9. I have a scott spark 900 with that terrible cable routing through the headset🙈 Since i bought it, it has never shifted down smoothly. Sometimes takes more than one pedal stroke and then shift hesitantly (I think its due to the cable not releasing properly due to the tight angles through the headset). I am at the point where i want to ditch the xtr to replace with sram, but was thinking maybe it is just a new cable, quality housing, proper routing and cheecking the alingment of the mech and hanger. Has anyone experienced this issue before and what can i do to resolve it? I have replaced the cable and the bike shop checked and adjusted the hanger and mech, but still not right. Damn frustrating when you want to shift and the gears just “hang” like and old Windows computer!
  10. anyone with an informed opinion?
  11. I am potentially selling a spotless Cannondale CAAD 2 and want some input on value please. Bike was bought new in 1999 and was never ridden. Comes with Shimano Nexave groupset. Looking for an estimate value please.
  12. OP was a year ago, so dont worry about that.... I have managed to pull the cable guide plug out of the frame by turning the plug around in the frame..then it comes out much much easier...... Genius... if I have to say so myself!
  13. Haha...thought it was just mine getting stuck....I accidentally pulled the lower cable guide into the frame...and i cant get it out...all the crud is that area makesnjt impossible to get the guide out through the BB holes...last resort it to undo the brake hose...kaaaak design..
  14. spiff.... Good write up, now ride some trails!
  15. What offset Direct Mount chainring do I require for a Cannondale Ai SRAM Eagle crankset?
  16. Have about 9 000km on a XO1 casette and XX1 chainring. I have been rotating three chains (2 x XO1 chains and one GX chain-which I took out of rotation, because of higher wear). I have now had a few chain drops and I am thinking of only replacing the chainring and see if that solves the problem. Should I consider getting two new XX1/XO1 chains to start with the new chainring and hope the casette is still ok, or do I just continue with the current 2x chains till the casette needs replacing? I guess it will probably depend on the wear on the chains....and If they are still within the 0.5% then replacing with two new ones should be ok, if over 0.5 then probably to late..? Would you agree with my logic and which DM chainring would you suggest?
  17. Where can I get Assos bibs at black Friday prices?
  18. How did you convert it to poplock/pbr or did omnico do it for you? Poplock button is so close to the handlebar that a lockout lever is not necessary imo
  19. 74 watts faster? Then the top 15 finishers in the tdf would have all been on this bike...
  20. Could not agree more. Ordered on 23 November...arrived in Joburg on the 7th of December....then had to email/call Skynet on numerous occasions to ask them to invoice me for the VAT/customs......then finally got the invoice on the 19th of December and paid the same day...goods was then sent to Cape Town on the 21st of Dec....still not here and no answer from the skynet contact person in CT....bunch of clowns....how did they get a contract with CRC?
  21. The aeroad has been around for many years. If it was a known weekpoint, Canyon would have changed the layup to reinforce the area. If it was in the first year it might have been understandable but not for a bike which has been raced and sold for many seasons.
  22. your one foot (or both feet) are on the ground vs on the pedals when you descend. you also don't go through potholes in the start pen.....
