  5. What is the number one purpose for building a single track? My guess is to go down more so than for going up. So my 2c would be that the guy going up is not using the single track for its main purpose, therefore he should give way.. That is what I have been doing and most guys cycling in Jonkershoek seem to do the same.
  6. Prepsol works well, but have also heard that it can damage certain rubbers on your bike, have been using it for 2 years, no problems yet. Read some of these lube reviews to help you decide on the best lube for you: https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=79134 aapskommel2010-05-31 09:21:00

  8. Does anyone know where I can get a list of MTB frame weights? I want to upgrade my Merida HFS 3000d alu frame to a lighter carbon frame. Think my frame is 1450g, looking for something around 1100g. Will you please list a frame weight that you know on this post. Size medium please, i think that is the size most manufacturers use. Merida 0.nine weighs 930g (960g for BB30 version) cannondale flash 950g

  10. Hi Fellow Hubbers. Another very positive review for Chain-L chain lube was released today: Bikeradar Review Read some more reviews here PM me to place an order.
  11. I ride a spec Carbon Stumpy, and have heard about the problems with the Epic frames cracking. I haven't seen stats, but I am sure these brake more often than other makes (higher %). Having said that, two of my friends ride GT Zaskar carbons, and both have cracked in less than a year. Nice thing though, is that you get a new bike every now and again. Just hope it does not break in the middle of a stage race!!
  12. Something like a Giant Anthem will set him back about R30 000. Good all round bike and many of them at the epic. Try to go for XT, but the new SLX is also good. Can obviously consider the SRAM equivalent as well. Tubeless is a must, so get it done with the purchase.
  13. you can have mine. Fox F80 RL. Have sent you PM.aapskommel2010-04-28 04:07:51
  14. Will you ask them to remove all the threads selling "replica"/fake/illegal stuff on the hub as well please.
  15. Why change the maguras? Great brakes, only downside is that they have left the country and pads for louise now costs R400 from LBS!!! didnt have time to import from CRC.
  16. I prefer this: so does Lance http://media.bontrager.com/images/articles/950x470/4b4ca470d9392_bt09_shack_team_bike_marquee_2.jpg

  18. almost 50% of the voters ride hardtails. can that be correct? where are the sussers?
  19. not realy, if at all. the fox 80mm and 100mm weighs the same. Some other brands make an 80 that is slightly lighter.
  20. any more votes?

  22. I want to setup my stumpjumper FSR with a more racy feel to it (have been riding a HT up to now). Will there be any reason why I can not put a straight bar on a XC Trail bike? how can I further rig the bike to have more of a XC race feel?
