  1. bought the bike in 2008, and has not serviced the fork yet (no leaking yet-was told if it does not leak, dont bother, as you often have more problems once it was been opended and serviced), so will need to replace all the servicable parts. Can it be bought as a set and what parts can be replaced?
  2. I want to give servicing my fork a try. If I mess it up, I will send it in for Fox to fix. Anyone tried servicing a fork? Can it be done using a manual like this: FOX website How hard is it, and what parts needs to be replaced? Where can I get the parts?

  9. Going to Hermanus for the weekend and want to join any social groups that might be riding tomorrow or Sunday.
  10. Porsche upgrades the suspension, engine, handling, performance and weight every time they bring out a new model. The Zaskars are not bad looking imho, but just not on the forefront of technology such as the likes of Spec, Merida, Scott, Cannondale etc. Having said that, I am sure you will also be glad to see that the 2011 Zaskar Carbon will be 300gr (yes 300grams!!) lighter than before. That in itself shows you how far behind they were! Good luck with the projec!
  11. Just a pity their frames still look the same as in 1992 and the latest carbon Zaskar weigh about the same as a modern alu frame. Any Idea when GT will bring out a new Carbon Hardtail frame?
  12. Thanks Mackie, Urban! Rudo, you should give it a try!

  14. Hi Guys Committed one of the cardinal sins of racing this weekend at the Gravel Travel and tried a new supplement for the first time during a race. Tried 32GI for the first time and it did not go well. Read a lot about it and thought I would try it for the race. I mixed two bottles with two scoops each for the 3.5-4 hour race. Had half a bottle on the way to the race. Went OK for the first 90 minutes until I took my first GU (as soon as I finished it, it occurred to me that this was probably not a good idea, as 32GI is low GI and GU is high in sugar for instant absorption and to produce an energy spike). 15 minutes later I hit the wall! As I wasn’t sure what to do to reverse this, I thought that I will revert back to my normal race strategy of bananas, Energade and bar-ones and stopped drinking the 32GI. Felt weak the rest of the race up to the 60km mark, when I got some life back. Now the question. Can it be the combination of 32GI and GU that caused me to bomb for the first time ever (been cycling for 2 years, did the Epic, Sani, 2x Attakwas with no problems)? Look forward to your comments. By the way, my Chain-L lube worked GREAT in the muddy conditions!
  15. Thanks anthemboy!! I am also amazed at the quality of the lube every time I go for a ride. @ helpme, yes only 120ml available.
  16. Had mine 2 years, great product! Only problem I started having lately is that sometimes it does not calculate my ascent when I start a new ride. Have to stop the unit, clear the ride and restart. Usually works great thereafter, just a bit annoying, as you have to ride and check whether is it working, if not reset the ride. A temperature gauge and a cappuccino maker are the only things missing!

  18. What record is that?
  19. Hi Stewie Chain-L works great in any condition for road and MTB. Being a wet lube, it is impossible to have a sparkling clean chain, but if applied and then wiped as clean as possible after is soaked in, it is possible to run the chain very clean. You can also give the chain a dry wipe after the ride with no need to apply more lube after every ride. Everybody prefers an ultra clean chain, but unfortunately that is impossible with a wet lube. A dry lube simply cannot do the same job for lubricating your chain and giving you smooth running, slick shifting, eliminates chain suck in really extreme conditions and staying in your chain for much longer. This will in the long run also save you some money on replacing chains and chainrings due to less wear causing friction. Let me know if you have more questions.
