  1. Halo headband. Bought 4 while I was in the US for $7 each. Never ever drips in my eyes and doesn’t make you hot. Edit: I see they are stupidly expensive in SA (R400 WTF?). I would give them a pass if buying here.
  2. It is. We were also lucky with the weather I think. It was high teens low twenties for most of the ride.
  3. My vote goes to uncool. Definitely uncool. Especially when it gets all manky with mud and road grime. The stuff inside is almost always rusted or mouldy or both. The larger the more uncool but for some reason when it gets into bike packing territory, it’s cool again… 😂😜
  4. Cool pics. The trails are actually really loose at the moment but they never disappoint. I might have seen your group this morning on my way up. The trail builders here are amazing! The full black route is probably around 40kms of singletrack!
  5. Hemel-en-aarde lower black route
  6. We went in the late afternoon and didn’t see a soul.
  7. Shimano I-Spec EV dropper remote. Really cool piece of kit and a really clean cockpit.
  8. I have one too. Came from a Wahoo Bolt. I used it a lot to get know my way around Singapore. It’s an amazing device. It even takes a SIM card which is great for side loading things like WhatsApp or just navigation in general Mapping and it’s display are its strong points. It beats the Wahoo Roam and Bolt by a country mile for nav. Setup is also really easy Size and the weird mount I would say are it’s weak points. I had to buy 2 different mounts for my bikes. The mount system is better than the quarter turn system, it’s just hard to find good third party options.
  9. Have 5x pairs of Assos bibs. First pair bought in 2013 are relegated to the trainer only. The S5 range faded from drying in the sun - so all the newer ones are dried strictly in the shade. As others have said, the stuff lasts forever and is super comfy. I have got 2 pairs of Mission Workshop bibs (I won them in a competition but they are mega-pricey +-R5k a pair) - which are made of a much tougher material but the pads are not nearly as comfy.
  10. It started raining soon after this, so don't feel too bad...
  11. Stormy Chappies
  12. Missing Link, Cape Town
  13. Great. Thanks for all the advice!
  14. Have you tried this before?
  15. If they do allow me to take them through security they may check them when I board. They are trail wheels, so quite strong but definitely not strong enough to get through checked baggage handling.
  16. Will the airlines accept a bike bag as hand luggage?
  17. Hey everyone. I am looking to bring back a set of 29er carbon wheels when I return to SA and was wondering if anyone has done something similar and/or has advice on how to transport them? I have a soft sided wheel bag I can use but I am not sure it’s a good idea to check them in as checked luggage as it does not provide any rigid protection. Any advice would be appreciated.
  18. Slip sliding away… T15 Singapore.
  19. Just curious, how muddy are the tracks at the moment?
  20. Beautiful morning here in Singapore after some mega-rain yesterday
  21. Quite slippery in the forest today from all the rain but still lots of fun.
  22. Ride through the jungle in Singapore.
