  1. Buy him what he likes then he will ride the wheels of that thing. Otherwise he will ride it for a couple of weeks then it will start gathering dust because it just doesn't excite him enough. I think at his age specs and quality don't matter much. It must just put a big wide grin on his face and leave a trail of pixie dust.
  2. Looks great, sounds great and with wolf tooths reputation will work great.
  3. Another moto takes the riders and UCI is quite, aargh this getting out of hand.
  4. They are focused on making the company as much money as possible.
  5. Cyclists workshop in north riding also use pillar spokes. Had them on several wheels no problems. Contact 073 261 7483
  6. I think by Jus the are implying that its Justice Makhale, head of development riders at EXXARO. Or an impostor with a knack for 3 letter words
  7. Most of you underestimate the value of a good commuter route, a commute where you don't have a death scare, I understand completely where OP is coming from. Its his route, he may not own it or have a right but feels responsible like every SA resident should feel about their country. I bet he has given away numerous tubes on that very same commute route to guys because he feels responsible. Now that K word response doesn't fly, OP has been on the hub a LOOOONG TIME, he knows the HUBS collective power and he has also been very liberal with his personal information so would be very easy to find. To post a rant here and email EXXARO just to have his behind chased by a big corporate looking at getting publicity "we fight racism everywhere" brownie points would not be wise even for a cave man in SA. Now JUS we want to hear your "guys" story because a simple 4 word " he called us kaffir" reply doesn't cut it. Ohh and tha development rider back story is also a bit thin. That team has been together for more than +-3 years and I can bet a black cent that 75% are older than 18 making them responsible adults who know that the are rules in life.
  8. The thing about accident recollection is that you will not remember each an every hit you took, so you survived a few drops but did you hit the tarmac with the back or your head or you temple or your forehead. Did you hit a square object or flat surface ?. But ultimately do what you want, dead people feel no pain. Its your head and will be on your families head.
  9. Before opening the hub up, check if the brakes are not dragging or periodically bumping the rim, check if you have not over-tightened the skewer sometimes its too tight then puts pressure on the outer bearing which slows things down. Also spin the wheel and put your hand on the skewer to feel if the is any rough vibrations, that could help in determining if its the bearings. Final straw would be to open it up. Don't know what model mavics those are but some require a special two pronged tool some a size 10 allen key. Will only know for sure once you open it up. For the two pronged tool you could use a circlip remover but be very careful as the holes strip easy hence the mavic tool is plastic and not steel like the circlip remover.
  10. You will begin to enjoy that fiery feeling in your lungs and legs. ohh and chasing strava KOM. Just a word of warning... That black commuter guy on a rickety BMX is actually a lot faster than you, don't try and race him for your EGO's sake.
  11. Thought I was locked out of heaven, so glad I wasn't alone in my misery. Now to waste more time during the day.
