  5. Used to have 5 bikes, 3 mtb's and 2 road bikes. Now I only have 1 x 26" trail bike, which I use for everything. That bike is a freakin chameleon.
  6. Congrats!!! Use the change, to convert to tubeless. Trust me, you will not regret it.

  9. I must have ridden the red route 15 times, and to me it flows brilliantly. Perhaps it is because I spend two hours a week on skills, and my suspension is properly set up as well. I also ride a trail bike, but I deserve a good quality ride, because I work hard on the hills with a heavy bike. I have found that on the red route, there are quite a few places where you can use some of the larger roots as lauch pads, and by doing that you can jump over many other roots that might have hampered your progress. Proper bunny hop technique is also crucial if you want to keep the flow on that trail.
  10. RS components, the have lots, you need to decide which will suit your tools the best. http://za.rs-online.com/web/c/tools/tool-kits-tool-storage/tool-rolls/

  12. What I don't like about tool sets is they never have all the tools, and they come in these moulded plastic cases, which means only those tools fit in there. Over the last 7 years of doing my own work on my bikes I have bought all the tools I require, and I use canvas tool rolls to store my tools. The tool rolls have eyelets, so you can hang the entire tool roll on a peg board. When I store my tools, I roll the tool rolls up, and put them in an ammo box along with grease, sealant, anti seize, fork oil and spares. This also ensures rattle free travelling when I take my tools along on a mtb/camping trip.
  13. Awesome work Eddi!!! Building your own lights is an awesome hobby. I have been riding with DIY lights for a few years now. The one I currently use is 100% locally sourced, small, light, 800 lumens and the total cost was less than R1000 which included a battery and charger. I use 4 cell 18650 Li-ion 8.4V batteries which are the same those of magiclight/magicshine etc.
  14. I mostly use Spanjaard which I buy from our plant's bolt supplier. You will probably find it at Builders Warehouse. It is also known as anti seize compound. You get various types such as copper based, nickel based, chrome based etc. The application dictates which is most suitable.
  15. I had a pedalling only creak noise on my bike that just would not go away, even after the elimination of the following areas: seatpost, seatpost clamp, seat clamp, saddle rails, QR's, BB replaced, copper slip on chainring bolts, torqued cassette lock ring correctly etc. In the end I took my pedals out, put copperslip on the thread, install, and the creak was gone.
  16. I know that, but both are carbon beauties. Loved seeing Mitch Delfs riding the Evil, and Stevie Smith riding the Devinci this past weekend.
