  1. B A UU tiful!!
  2. next time you see him, you should catch him and have some science geek clone the guy... no more punctures!!!
  3. so he basically made the diameter of the hub smaller using a file?? how many people can you trust to do that?
  4. the guy at my LBS told that I have a special freewheel hub on my Fulcrum's that only fits a 10 speed Dura Ace cassette apparently shimano made these "special" ones a while back does anyone know of these "DA ONLY" freebodies, is it true, or was he just trying to get an extra pound out of me? I've never checked it another cassette fit though..
  5. I'm glad to hear that, I have a problem with my 305, and was reluctant to take it in, because I didn't want to wait for months for it to be repaired.. thanks for the info!
  6. where do I get a sticker like that?? (oh yeah,, nice bike!!)
  7. one carbon road bike.. one carbon hardtail.. cant see that I need more!
  8. check out this link... http://www.machinehead-software.co.uk/bike/cranks/cyclist_crank_length_calculator.html hopefully it will help and prevent some fights!!
  9. the manufacturing process is more expensive for clinchers, it very difficult to manufacture the "lip" out of carbon fibre...

    Garmin 305

I had a similar problem, One friday night before a race on saturday, the unit just didn't switch on. no matter what i did, nothing! put it on charge,, still nothing! did the race without it, and I think on sunday when I tried again to turn it on, it worked perfectly. the "enter" button on the unit is not working properly though.. you have to press almost till it comes out on the other side for it to work! so I emailed the guys at garmin and they said I should bring it in and they will have a look and decide if the warrantee covers it.
  12. is it necessary to have a set? why not keep on using the fulcrums for training and racing,or will their life significantly reduce?
  13. yeah,, well I use them for training and racing now. is it beter to get tubbies and train of the fulcrums, or buy cheap training wheels?
  14. what would you guys think... I have a set of fulcrum racing 1 wheels (my only wheels, no training wheels) is it worth the money to get some carbon tubbies? something like the equinox or the planet-x ones?
  15. nobody??
  16. never heard of them,, but a 705 for that price is a give away! heard today from a friend that the "new" price for a polar s725x is R4500!!! MADNESS!! if premiumgps checks out, take it!
  17. anyone ride them? how are they? heard from someone they flex quite a bit? thinking of maybe getting a set...
  18. makes sense! thanks
  19. unwanted flex? does that mean that a track bike takes more punishment than a "normal" roadbike being hammered in a bunch sprint for the finish? interesting!?
  20. hey I've noticed, dont know if I'm completely mistaken, but some top end time trail and track bikes are heavier than the road bikes of they same brand only way more expensive!? why is that, shouldn't those bikes be lighter? http://www.bhbikes.co.za/PRODUCTS/BHBikes/TimeTrialBikes/tabid/211/language/en-US/Default.aspx http://www.bhbikes.co.za/PRODUCTS/BHBikes/RoadBikes/tabid/210/language/en-US/Default.aspx

    MTB frames

after alot of searching I finally bought myself a hardtail frame!! (rm8 carbon raleigh) now I'm wondering, while doing some research I came across Merida frame for about R4000 and a friend of mine bought a Specialized @ R7000. (both new) are there aluminum frames out there under 1.4kg? or are all the "pro" racing frames about the same weight? why then are some so expensive compared to others? are they really any better, only riding along on a big name? same goes for carbon frames? is there a huge difference between, say an orea alma and the raleigh carbon frames?? or are we paying more for a nice "name"?
  22. a friend of mine had a rds 9, I saw they silly weld joint on his frame, luckily his didn't break!! my advice... buy my marathon 8 frame from me!! https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=35160

    orbea lanza

thanks turtlek! sorry I'm making it sound like I dont value your opinion, but that is not the case.. I just want to make 100% because the guy at the shop I'm buying from assures me that it's NOT a 29er. the frame I can buy is the 2008 LANZA I also read that on the website, but it looks like the site only has the 09 bikes?? I did a google search on the 2008 lanza frame, got some stuff and it looks like there was a model that is not a 29er??
